Preseason 6A Report

<!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>6A has some new contenders that are going to be on board. The 2022 5A champs are now in 6A. This is going to be a very competitive classification this year. We are expecting to see some great games that go on this season. It is going to be very interesting to see who will be the 6A state champs.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:heading --> <h2 class="wp-block-heading"><strong>Picayune Maroon Tide</strong></h2> <!-- /wp:heading --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Picayune is going to be a force in 6A this season. They are going to be coming with a lot of toughness and aggression. This is something that we are used to see coming from them. They are going to still be a run heavy team. They have [player_tooltip player_id='648935' first='Darrell' last='Smith'] and [player_tooltip player_id='344053' first='Chris' last='Davis'] back there toting the rock. Even [player_tooltip player_id='616691' first='Niquis' last='Ratcliff'] will see a run or two. [player_tooltip player_id='344138' first='Jamonta' last='Waller'] is ready to hold down the defense.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:heading --> <h2 class="wp-block-heading"><strong>South Panola Tigers</strong></h2> <!-- /wp:heading --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>South Panola has a very good squad coming back this season. They have [player_tooltip player_id='346336' first='Michael' last='Johnson']s back who will be holding things down at receiver. They also have Juju Pope that will be back running the ball. Their defense is going to be very stout also. This is a team to keep up with this season.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:heading --> <h2 class="wp-block-heading"><strong>Grenada Chargers</strong></h2> <!-- /wp:heading --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Grenada is a team that has produced some great talent over the years. They have some studs coming back this year as well. They also have [player_tooltip player_id='1118985' first='Charlie' last='Fair'] who is transferring from Lafayette Co. [player_tooltip player_id='616685' first='Aaron' last='Travis'] will be holding down the defensive line. They also have [player_tooltip player_id='1127532' first='Jahmani' last='Washington'] who will be back in the linebacker core.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:heading --> <h2 class="wp-block-heading"><strong>Vicksburg Gators</strong></h2> <!-- /wp:heading --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>The Gators will be back with some nice motion this season. I look forward to them making a lot of noise. [player_tooltip player_id='910473' first='Tyler' last='Carter'] is a dog that is committed to Mississippi State. I can see him having a very big season for the Gators. They have a lot of fire power in the backfield on offense as well.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:heading --> <h2 class="wp-block-heading"><strong>Hattiesburg Tigers</strong></h2> <!-- /wp:heading --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Hattiesburg should have a lot of firepower in 6A south. They are always some very athletic guys. Coach Tony Vance will make sure he scores a lot of points. It will be good for them to make sure that defense is on point this season. I can see them making a nice run in the playoffs.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:heading --> <h2 class="wp-block-heading"><strong>Neshoba Central</strong></h2> <!-- /wp:heading --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Neshoba Central has been a team that has produced some top talent for a while. [player_tooltip player_id='920454' first='Anthony' last='Hopson'] is ready to be a force on their defensive line. They are also going to be looking to get a lot of yards on the ground behind a tough defense. This team is known to do great things. You won't see them backing down from anybody this season.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Ridgeland and Callaway should do some big things around the Jackson area. Ridgeland has a new head coach. That offense should look different this season. 6A is going to be very competitive this year.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph -->
