"The Van Buren signal caller is a prospect that has the arm to keep opposing defenses honest. Perkins does a great job of extending drives and he always seems to be on the page of his opposing wide receivers. Perkins put on a great show over the weekend in Pine Bluff. The talented quarterback opened plenty of eyes at Arkansas-Pine Bluff and earned a scholarship offer in the process. He is a prospect to keep an eye on over the next few months. "Pulaski Academy wide receiver [player_tooltip player_id='204424' first='Cole' last='Turner'] is developing into a smooth route runner. He uses the crisp routes he runs to create separation from opposing defensive backs. A talent in which he put on display at the Nashville 7-on-7 Prep Redzone Tournament. Turner does an excellent job of looking the ball in before taking off with the football. He is a wide receiver to keep an eye on over the next couple of seasons. He has the potential to be a big play threat in the Pulaski Academy offense." <a href="https://prepredzone.com/2023/03/7-on-7-arkansas-prospects-3-27-23/">7-on-7 Arkansas Prospects 3-27-23</a>   [player_tooltip player_id='283397' first='William' last='Svoboda'] | Pulaski Academy   Wiliam Svoboda is a versatile talent who can line up all across the formation to provide mismatched opportunities. Svoboda has great catch skills, as Prep Network's Tom Tabler covers below.   "Pulaski Academy does not ever disappoint with the amount of talent that is on the team. The Bruins are loaded at the skill positions over the next couple of seasons. [player_tooltip player_id='283397' first='William' last='Svoboda'] can work at the wide receiver or tight end positions. He has the size and athleticism to go up and high point the football. Svoboda has the hands needed for the position and he does not drop passes. Svoboda is a prospect that I expect big things from over the next couple of seasons. Dover is a versatile prospect on the defensive line who can switch alignments and create problems off the edge and on the interior.   "Over the past few seasons, Mountain Home has been a football team that has caused plenty of headaches for the opposition. On the defensive side of the ball, [player_tooltip player_id='403345' first='Robert' last='Dover'] is a prospect that can play the edge rusher position or move inside and cause problems at the tackle position. Dover is a powerful defensive lineman that does an excellent job of getting into the opposing offensive backfield. He can take a game over if he is left unaccounted for. Dover earned a scholarship offer from Tennessee-Martin a few days ago. Dover is a prospect to watch out for over the next few months." <a href="https://prepredzone.com/2023/06/recruiting-news-and-notes-6-3-23/">Recruiting News and Notes 6-3-23</a>   Alex Wellborn | Van Buren   <h2 class="wp-block-heading">Linebacker</h2>   Lawson Wimberly | Searcy   [player_tooltip player_id='149598' first='Eli' last='Whitaker'] | Greenwood   Covered below by Todd Drake in January, [player_tooltip player_id='149598' first='Eli' last='Whitaker'] also earned second-team all-state honors by Prep Redzone following his 2022 performance.   "[player_tooltip player_id='149598' first='Eli' last='Whitaker'] is a 6'0, 195 pound senior to be with a 3.6 GPA. This past season he had 60 tackles and 11 tackles for losses in 10 games. He feels his strengths is his mental toughness and his persistence to make the play. Eli bench presses 270 pounds and squats 405 pounds.   He attended camps this past summer at the University of Central Arkansas and Lindenwood College in Missouri. Next summer he plans on attending camps at The University of Arkansas, The University of Central Arkansas and others yet to be determined. Eli feels that he can bring encouragement and hard working attitude to the next level.   He feels what separates him from other linebackers in the state is his playing with all gas and no breaks and his ability to keep his team engaged as one of the leaders on the defense. Eli loves the team camaraderie while also getting wins and the love of hitting people on the football field.   Eli says Jesus Christ inspires him to be the player that he is today. He also says that the person that inspires him on the team is Head Coach Chris Young. Eli says that he is a very fast learner and learns from his mistakes.
