After breaking down some intriguing quarterback and wide receiver prospects, it’s time to continue to highlight the offense as we move onto the running back position. Without any further ado, here’s my list of some more talented 2024 running backs in Tennessee to watch out for this upcoming season.

At the top of my list of notable performers is Omarian Mills Omarian Mills 5'10" | 205 lbs | RB Jefferson Co. | 2024 State TN , a 5-foot-10, 205-pound running back at Jefferson County High School. Mills was one of the more efficient ground weapons on the Patriots’ roster during his junior stint of high school football last year. In addition to impressive size, speed and a physical edge, what stands out about Mills is his ability to execute quickly off the snap while remaining completely composed as well as his ability to shake defensive pressure and break tackles. The rising senior out of Dandridge, TN. additionally showcased his ability to use bursts of speed to escape the pocket into the open field.

Another outstanding player that caught my attention was Gage LaDue Gage LaDue 6'1" | 215 lbs | RB Maryville | 2024 State TN , a 6-foot-1, 215-pound running back at Maryville High School. LaDue made his presence known on the field with the Red Rebels during his junior campaign of high school football last year. What stands out most about LaDue is his size, speed and overall durability, proving he can muscle past the defense, break tackles and stay on his feet. The rising senior out of Maryville, TN. additionally caught my eye with his explosive quickness and footwork, utilizing his movement to maneuver and juke out defensive playmakers.

Finishing in the number three spot on my list of standouts is Elijah Robb Elijah Robb 5'9" | 200 lbs | RB Pope Prep | 2024 State TN , a 5-foot-9, 200-pound running back at Pope John Paul II High School. Robb was a highly explosive offensive weapon for the Knights during his junior season of high school football last year. With excellent size, speed and undeniable athleticism, Robb made a huge difference in the backfield and redzone, utilizing his physicality and footwork to blast past defenders en route to the endzone. The rising senior out of Hendersonville, TN. also impressed me with his versatility, ability to avoid contact and pick up considerable speed off the snap.
I was additionally impressed with B.J. Blake B.J. Blake 5'9" | 180 lbs | RB Germantown | 2024 State TN , a 5-foot-9, 180-pound running back at Germantown High School. Blake made a huge offensive impact for the Red Devils during his junior stint of high school football last year. In addition to outstanding size, speed and offensive toughness, what stands out about Blake is his solid footwork and lightning-quick movement, allowing for him to escape the defense in the pocket. The rising senior out of Germantown, TN. additionally caught my attention with his awareness, ability to pick up speed in the backfield and his overall composure under heavy defensive pressure.

Coming in at number five on my list of standouts is Donovan Holloway Donovan Holloway 5'9" | 190 lbs | RB Blackman | 2024 TN , a 5-foot-9, 190-pound running back at Blackman High School. Holloway made a significant difference on the ground for the Blaze during his junior season of high school football last year. With solid size, speed and the ability to adapt in the pocket, Holloway was difficult to contain, showcasing his toughness, durability and ability to overpower the opposition and escape into the open field. The rising senior out of Murfreesboro, TN. is so dangerous due to his footwork and ability to consistently force his way into the endzone once he picks up enough speed in the backfield.
