Treven was a big riser in the latest rankings update, jumping from 269 to 129. Weddle ended his junior season with 1,287 rushing yards, 11 touchdowns, 60 total tackles, 11 TFLs, an interception, and a forced fumble. One of the biggest factors for Treven's rise was his very impressive performance at the Prospect Tour showcase. Treven was among the top two-way players at the showcase and displayed a nice skillset that should translate to the next level. He isn't a super shifty runner (although he posted great times, 4.56 shuttle and 7.25 L-drill), but he is very patient and allows his blocks to set up before bursting through his lanes. Treven does have great acceleration once he clears the second and third levels, often breaking away for a long gain. Defensively, he impressed with his ability to play off the ball. He covers a lot of ground when dropping back in coverage, and he is quick to break on the ball when he needs to go downhill or move laterally. Very physical on both sides of the ball, he can dish out/absorb contact as a ball carrier, and he loves to lay the wood on defense. Huge upside on either side of the ball!

I've had the opportunity to watch Norris on a couple of occasions last month, and one player that stood out in a big way was [player_tooltip player_id='408439' first='John' last='Hood']. John is expected to be a big part of the offense and defense in 2023, at both receiver and cornerback, and it seems he is ready to take that on. I have been very impressed with John's coverage skills at cornerback, where he's shown a great mix of technique, physicality, and football IQ. He does a great job using his leverage to force receivers to adjust their routes to him. John plays with good instinct and physicality, showing great timing with his hand use and when to go up to contest the ball. At receiver, John has shown that he will be someone to keep an eye on when it's time to dial up the deep ball. He's consistent at getting a good release at the line and can accelerate quickly with his long stride. He is not just a deep ball receiver, but also showing that he can work all levels of the field, outside and between the seams. Great hands receiver that doesn't rely on his body to secure the catch. Stock rising!

Trey is part of a great returning group of trench warriors for the Wildcats and should be able to build on his junior season. Trey's primary role is defensive end, but he also has the frame and skill set to be an outside linebacker at the next level. He does a good job generating a nice push at the snap and then follows up with solid hand use. Mittelstedt looked good defending the edge, displaying that he can disengage from blocks and has the lateral quickness to track down backs in the backfield. Surprisingly twitchy at the line of scrimmage. Trey's motor was also impressive to watch as he consistently played with great hustle all the way through the whistle. A versatile defender that should get some more looks!

The Thunderbolts should field a solid OL in 2023, with a couple of players returning from last season. One player to watch out for is guard [player_tooltip player_id='846293' first='Brayden' last='Matulka'] who has also shown the versatility to play center. He has a strong base that helps him anchor down when taking on pass rushers and does a great job getting his hands in position. Good use of leverage and maintaining a consistent pad level. Brayden had a nice play at center, where he cleared both A gaps with quick, powerful strikes. I had limited tape, but overall a great base is in place for Brayden, who will only continue to develop over the next few months.
