We featured five of the highest ranked newcomers in Part I of Class of ’25: Summer Additions, but there’s still 11 more prospects that need to be highlighted. Part II of this three part coverage shines the spotlight on four small-school players from Class 4A and Class 3A, and there’s also a stout defensive tackle from the Olathe area. Each of these prospects landed inside the Top 150, but they’ll be eager to work their way up to the Top 100 in the next update.
There were a total of six new running backs added during the recent update, and Lamarcus Allen Lamarcus Allen 5’10” | 180 lbs | RB Independence | 2025 State KS was one of five that cracked the Top 100. He headlines this group with the highest debut of the bunch, as he entered in at No. 61 overall, and he’s the 7th ranked back in the class. Allen stepped up in the absence of Field Kindley’s starter last season, and it didn’t take long for him to make an impact. The 5-foot-10, 185-pound back rushed for over 200 yards twice in his first varsity season, and he ended the ’22 campaign with 888 yards on 138 attempts with eight scores. He’s a bruising runner that can handle a heavy workload as a junior.
The second highest debut from this group came from Brett Davidson Brett Davidson 6’3″ | 240 lbs | DL Baldwin | 2025 State KS of Baldwin. This upcoming junior class boasts tremendous talent along the defensive line, and Davidson is a perfect example of just how deep the position group is. Davidson is a 6-foot-3, 240-pound defensive tackle that showed promise during his sophomore year. Recruiters took note of his potential, and as a result, Davidson received camp invitations from the University of Kansas, Kansas State, and he was even invited to the ESPN300 Elite Underclassmen Camp back in April. The 114th ranked prospect not only has upside as a defensive lineman, but he’s also a solid right tackle as well.
There were only a handful of offensive linemen added to the rankings during the recent update, and Garrett Love Garrett Love 6’0″ | 240 lbs | OL Chanute | 2025 State KS of Chanute received the second highest debut from the group. Despite being one of the smaller offensive linemen in the rankings, Love is just as athletic and physical as some of the top-ranked linemen in the class. The six-foot tall, 240-pound left guard helped the Blue Comets’ offensive line produce over 3,400 yards of total offense in 2022, which led to a 1st Team All-League selection. Love checked in a few spots behind Davidson at No. 117 overall, and he’s the 14th ranked offensive lineman in the class.
Another defensive tackle that debuted inside the Top 150 was Jake Brink Jake Brink 6’1″ | 245 lbs | DL Olathe NW | 2025 State KS of Olathe Northwest. Like Brett Davidson Brett Davidson 6’3″ | 240 lbs | DL Baldwin | 2025 State KS , Brink adds great depth to the Class of ’25’s defensive line group. Brink debuted at No. 118 overall, and he entered just behind Davidson as the 19th ranked defensive lineman in the class. His playstyle fits the mold of a run stuffing 3-Technique. He’s capable of taking on double teams, and possesses the strength to stop ball carriers in their tracks. Brink is arguably one of the strongest prospects in the class, and he’s looking to be a problem for opposing offenses this fall.
This last prospect featured in Part II is one folks need to remember during the ’23 campaign. Lennox Vann Lennox Vann 6’0″ | 165 lbs | ATH Fort Scott | 2025 State KS could be the key to a bounce back year for the Fort Scott Tigers. The Tigers experienced their struggles in 2022, but Vann’s standout play on both sides of the ball was an encouraging sign for the future. He showed flashes of being a dangerous dual-threat quarterback, and on defense he displayed great ball skills back at safety. He’s a player capable of quickly shifting the momentum of a game, and he’s sure to play with much more confidence in his second varsity season. Vann joined the rankings as the 23rd ranked athlete in the class, and he’s the 122nd ranked prospect overall.
