Christian Jones Christian Jones 6'3" | 220 lbs | LB Omaha Westside | 2025 State NE | LB | Omaha Westside | 6’3″ 215 lbs
Omaha Westside’s Christian Jones Christian Jones 6'3" | 220 lbs | LB Omaha Westside | 2025 State NE has continued to wow spectators and coaches at every camp he’s attended this off-season. Jones ended his sophomore season with 60 total tackles, five TFLs, three sacks, two forced fumbles, two fumble recoveries, three PBUs, and an interception and will be crucial in the Warrior’s title defense. Christian is a do-it-all linebacker that can defend the run, rush the passer, and is great in coverage. He has a high football IQ that allows him to process the game at a high-level while reacting quickly to what he sees. He’s very fast to break on the ball, and his elite closing speed (10.89 100m) allows him to track down ball carriers from nearly anywhere on the field. Exceptional two-way athlete— could also see a rise in his offensive use. Christian currently holds offers from Texas A&M, Iowa, Boston College, Kansas State, Oklahoma, Notre Dame, Mizzou, Stanford, Southern California, Michigan State, Wisconsin, Kansas, Iowa State, Minnesota, and Nebraska. What are the odds Christian has a few new offers before noon?
Kalvin Janssen Kalvin Janssen 6'4" | 280 lbs | OL Gretna | 2025 State NE | OL | Gretna | 6’4″ 265 lbs
With so many big names around him making the headlines, offensive tackle Kalvin Janssen Kalvin Janssen 6'4" | 280 lbs | OL Gretna | 2025 State NE quietly had a tremendous sophomore season. Kalvin made the move up to varsity look very easy as he took over the Dragon’s right tackle. Janssen outplayed his youth with a display of sound blocking technique. Kalvin executes everything, down to the little things, at a high level, including his pad level, hand placement, and great use of leverage. When watching Janssen’s tape, his short-area quickness and burst popped off the screen immediately, clearing second-level blocks very well. He’s very physical and is always looking to finish the block in the dirt. Wouldn’t be surprised to see offers roll in before the season starts for Kalvin.
Pierre Allen Jr Pierre Allen Jr 6'3" | 215 lbs | DL Lincoln Southeast | 2025 State NE . | DL | Lincoln Southeast | 6’3″ 205 lbs
One takeaway from the Southeast practice I attended… Pierre looks ready to dominate in 2023. Pierre is the Knights’ returning leader in tackles after posting 75 total tackles, two sacks, two fumble recoveries, an interception, and a pass defense. He’s a twitchy defensive end with an elite ability to create pressure. Pierre gets nice bend coming off the edge with tons of explosiveness from his hips/lower body. He plays with violent hands and knows how to convert his quick get-off into a powerful initial punch. Great lateral quickness— he defended screens and scrambling QBs very well. Watch out!
Chase Loftin Chase Loftin 6'6" | 215 lbs | TE Millard South | 2025 State NE | TE/WR | Elkhorn North | 6’5″ 200 lbs
A fast-rising prospect that is bound to blow up this season. Elkhorn North’s Chase Loftin Chase Loftin 6'6" | 215 lbs | TE Millard South | 2025 State NE was a major winner this offseason after a tremendous camp circuit ended in offers from Oklahoma, Iowa State, Nebraska, Mizzou, Kansas State, and Illinois. Chase made a huge jump as a sophomore, displaying next-level route running and automatic hands, ending the year with 39 catches for 577 yards and five touchdowns. He’s a versatile receiver that creates major mismatches regardless of whether he’s lined up outside or inside. Next-level understanding of route concepts and spacing allows him to create separation with ease. Loftin also flashed great blocking skills, naming that and blocking footwork as points of emphasis for his training this offseason. A faster, bigger, meaner, more-refined Chase Loftin Chase Loftin 6'6" | 215 lbs | TE Millard South | 2025 State NE is not something I want to deal with if I’m a Class B defense this fall!
Pierce Mooberry Pierce Mooberry 6'4" | 200 lbs | ATH Millard North | 2025 State NE | ATH | Millard North | 6’4″ 200 lbs
Through two seasons, Millard North’s Pierce Mooberry Pierce Mooberry 6'4" | 200 lbs | ATH Millard North | 2025 State NE has proven to be one of the more versatile players in his class. In the time I’ve been covering Pierce, I’ve seen him at tight end, defensive line, linebacker, and safety… excelling at all of them. On the defensive side of the ball, he attacks the ball every play, regardless of where he’s lined up. As a result, Pierce ended his sophomore year with an impressive 45 tackles, ten TFLs, four sacks, and an interception on defense. He uses his length very well to create separation at the LOS and has the closing speed to hawk down QBs and RBs in the backfield. Pierce also does a great job in coverage, using his range to cover large chunks of field and lengthy frame to get his arms up and swat away passes. On the offensive side, Pierce emerged as a big play threat with an average of 25 yards per reception (16 catches for 404 yards) and five touchdowns. He’s especially dangerous in the redzone, where his 81″ wing span and insane vertical help him elevate over defenders. Great route runner as well. Pierce currently holds an offer from Iowa State, and is receiving tons of attention that should turn into more offers once the season starts.
