I had a lot of fun breaking down these 5 underclassman's film this summer. Turning on their highlight tapes got me excited for the start of the 2023 high school season. Highlight tapes full of big hits, interceptions, and sacks! These linebackers run around with reckless abandon which is going make any college defensive coordinator very excited to recruit them.

[player_tooltip player_id='831091' first='Drake' last='Mosley'] 6'2 210 O'Fallon HS - Drake plays outside LB in a 3-3 stack, so he is always on the move. He does a good job timing his blitzes and stunts often resulting in big plays. He displays very fluid hips when he is bending an edge or opening up and running in coverage. I really like Drake's versatility within a defensive scheme because he can do a lot of things well. He should have monster year for the panthers this year.

Brock VanDeveer 5'11 210 Mahomet-Seymour HS - Brock is a big time hitter at the LB spot! Rarely do his tackles not result in the ball carrier going backwards. He's a throwback player brining some real toughness to the linebacker position. I rarely saw Brock blocked last year and wrecked a lot of offensive schemes. Brock will be playing for a new team in 2023 as he recently transferred to Mahomet-Seymour.

[player_tooltip player_id='831095' first='Nathan' last='Cleveland'] 6'2 200 Hoffmann Estates HS - Nathan in an out of the box LB, mostly playing like a nickel in 2022 season. No matter where you put him on defense, Nathan is going make plays. He is going to be a fun player for college defensive coordinators to recruit and project to their defense. He is a long body that can run often closing up passing windows in hurry. He has ball skills like a DB but can tackle like a LB. Nathan is going to be a problem for teams for the next two years.

[player_tooltip player_id='819690' first='Timotei' last='Dan'] 5'11 200 Lake Forest HS - Timotei flys around on defense for the scouts. He's a smart football player who can diagnose plays quickly and react. You don't see a lot of wasted movement, when he reads run he down hill now. He plays fast and his stats from 2022 are reflective of that with a lot of big plays that impacted games all season long.

[player_tooltip player_id='832146' first='Brock' last='Sperling'] 6'0 205 Chicago Christian HS - Brock is just a football player. He plays all over the field in a multitude of positions from LB to DT. You can tell he is an unselfish player willing to put his team first and play anywhere for the team's success. No mater what position he is at though, he is going play at a high physical level. He has a very quick first step on defense making him a hard guy to block. Overall Brock will project will project at the LB position at the next level.
