With the 2023 high school football season quickly approaching, it is time for some rankings updates! For the state of Kentucky, the updated Top 150 rankings for the talented 2025 class have been posted. With that being said, I will be taking the next couple weeks to breakdown these updated rankings by position. After already covering the quarterback and running back positions, I will now turn my attention to our top wide receivers in the state of Kentucky in the class of 2025.

Smith had an impressive sophomore season, catching 41 passes for 678 yards and eight touchdowns. Makhi is a very skilled route runner, showing the ability to create separation with quick breaks in his routes. He is also extremely athletic, showing the ability to go up and catch the ball at its highest point in contested jump ball situations. Smith is also very dangerous after the catch, showing the speed and elusiveness to turn short passes and screens into big gains at any given moment. He also plays a key role on defense as a defensive back, finishing this past season with four interceptions but I believe that he is still at his best on the offensive side of the ball. Smith currently holds offers from Kentucky, West Virginia, Louisville, Western Kentucky, and Eastern Kentucky, and I expect more to come his way as he is a true Power 5 caliber wide receiver prospect.","_player_evaluations_0_evaluation":"field_62aba51aecf34","player_evaluations_1_player":["735682"],"_player_evaluations_1_player":"field_62ab9d62ecf2c","player_evaluations_1_override_profile_image":"","_player_evaluations_1_override_profile_image":"override-player-profile-image","player_evaluations_1_not_in_database":"","_player_evaluations_1_not_in_database":"field_62aba48cecf2d","player_evaluations_1_evaluation":"[player_tooltip player_id='735682' first='Aveion' last='Chenault'] is a rising star in the 2025 class that has received a lot of attention this off-season. As a sophomore, Chenault only caught seven passes for 82 yards but he put together some impressive highlights. The first thing that stands out when watching Chenault is his athleticism. He has a very high catch radius and has shown the ability to go up and catch passes at their highest point in contested catch situations. Chenault is also a smooth route runner and has the speed to turn up the field and pick up yards after the catch. Aveion currently holds offers from Duke, Purdue, Eastern Kentucky, Illinois, Miami (OH), Kentucky, Michigan, West Virginia, and Ole Miss, and I expect more of those Power 5 offers to come his way as his role in the Broncos' offense continues to grow.","_player_evaluations_1_evaluation":"field_62aba51aecf34","player_evaluations_2_player":["373048"],"_player_evaluations_2_player":"field_62ab9d62ecf2c","player_evaluations_2_override_profile_image":"","_player_evaluations_2_override_profile_image":"override-player-profile-image","player_evaluations_2_not_in_database":"","_player_evaluations_2_not_in_database":"field_62aba48cecf2d","player_evaluations_2_evaluation":"[player_tooltip player_id='373048' first='Brock' last='Coffman'] is a wide receiver that has been high on our radar for a while now. He is coming off a strong sophomore season in which he caught 73 passes for 853 yards and nine touchdowns. Coffman has shown the ability to thrive on both the outside and in the slot, showing the ability to run a full route tree. He is able to use his speed and quickness to create separation from opposing defensive backs with ease. Coffman is also dangerous after the catch, showing the ability to turn short passes into big gains. He also plays a key role on defense and special teams, coming away with three interceptions (returning one for a touchdown), and returning one kickoff for a touchdown last season. Brock currently holds an offer from Eastern Kentucky but I expect more to come his way soon as he has the talent to play at the FBS or possibly Power 5 level.","_player_evaluations_2_evaluation":"field_62aba51aecf34","player_evaluations_3_player":["324212"],"_player_evaluations_3_player":"field_62ab9d62ecf2c","player_evaluations_3_override_profile_image":"","_player_evaluations_3_override_profile_image":"override-player-profile-image","player_evaluations_3_not_in_database":"","_player_evaluations_3_not_in_database":"field_62aba48cecf2d","player_evaluations_3_evaluation":"[player_tooltip player_id='324212' first='Maurice' last='Stephens'] is a wide receiver that has quickly climbed up our rankings. Stephens had a solid sophomore season, finishing with seven receptions for 129 yards and two touchdowns. He is a very dangerous deep threat, showing the speed to run by opposing defensive backs to create separation. Maurice is also reliable in contested catch situations, showing the toughness, strong hands, and concentration to bring in catches through contact. Stephens has had quite the off-season as he now holds offers from Central Michigan, Eastern Kentucky, Akron, and Miami (OH), and I expect more of those offers to come his way as he has the talent to play at the Division I level.","_player_evaluations_3_evaluation":"field_62aba51aecf34","player_evaluations_4_player":["735687"],"_player_evaluations_4_player":"field_62ab9d62ecf2c","player_evaluations_4_override_profile_image":"","_player_evaluations_4_override_profile_image":"override-player-profile-image","player_evaluations_4_not_in_database":"","_player_evaluations_4_not_in_database":"field_62aba48cecf2d","player_evaluations_4_evaluation":"To wrap up our top five receivers in the state of Kentucky in the class of 2025, I have [player_tooltip player_id='735687' first='Austin' last='Sperry'] from Breathitt County. Sperry had an impressive sophomore season, catching 41 passes for 891 yards and 13 touchdowns. Austin has proven to be reliable on both the outside and in the slot, using his speed to blow by opposing defensive backs in the deep passing game. He also has very impressive athleticism, showing the ability to go up and catch passes at their highest point to win in contested jump ball situations. Austin currently holds an offer from Eastern Kentucky but he could be leaning towards playing basketball at the next level as he holds multiple Division I offers and is one of the top players in the state. However, if he were to choose to go the football route, Sperry definitely has the talent to be a Division I wide receiver.","_player_evaluations_4_evaluation":"field_62aba51aecf34","player_evaluations":5,"_player_evaluations":"field_62aba7547dc44"},"mode":"edit","alignText":"left","anchor":"acf-block-64c1482e87d81"} /-->
