With college scholarships getting tough to attain, it is more important than ever for these young men to have an opportunity to jump on the radar screen.
Prospects across the state of Florida have used the past few months to get noticed, and while not everyone has accomplished that goal, we are here to make sure that we put them in the spotlight.
Throughout the remainder of the season, our objective is to continue to take these under-the-radar players and give them some much needed exposure.
Because the Class of 2024 is on the clock, our focus is on these seniors – as Prep Redzone Florida covers every corner of the state.
Today, we have five more football players for colleges to check out.
Travis Delaney Jr., QB, 5-10, 160, Hialeah. Starting out at Miramar High in Broward County, this talented young man moved south into Miami-Dade County last season. What he has shown since his sophomore season is a strong and accurate arm. Last season he did a lot of the same things and also showed if he had to use his legs to extend plays, he was able to do that. What colleges are going to be the most impressed by his skill level. He is someone who can end up on someone’s roster at the next level.
Dennis Dresson, TE/LB, 6-1, 220, Boynton Somerset Canyons. 3.1 GPA. Talk about a physical and versatile talent, this is a prospect that gives college coaches an opportunity to see him perform at a number of positions. Whether it’s at fullback, tight end, defensive end or linebacker, his motor never stops and has made himself a player that makes the move from Wellington to the Boynton Beach area for his final season. He also adds to his total package with a 3.1 grade point average.
Michael T. McDonald III, Athlete, 6-2, 170, South Fort Myers. This way underpublicized prospect comes south from Cape Coral Ida Baker for his final season, and watching everything he brings to the table, college coaches really need be looking in his direction. No matter of he plays on offense, defense or as a kick returner on special teams, this is an asset to any program, and will be huge for the Wolfpack in 2023. On defense, he has the size to play safety, but the athleticism to lineup at corner.
Jaylen Morris, S, 5-11, 155, Miami Edison. On a team that has its share of athletes, here is one that you will want to keep an eye on. Not only does he play the run very well, coming up to support, but shows some more than promising cover skills for the Red Raiders. Last season at Miami Immaculata LaSalle, he put together a solid season with 35 tackles, three interceptions and seven pass breakups. In addition, he showcased his skill in the classroom – with a 3.6 grade point average.
Alex Scott, OL, 6-1, 295, Seffner Armwood. This is one of those gifted young men that you need to watch play to fully understand what he brings to the table. From whistle-to-whistle he is relentless, attacking the defense and engaging. He has the size, strength, and ability to play this game at the next level. He not only opens holes for the running game, but he is developing into a solid pass protector as well. His work in the classroom (3.6 GPA) is also something that will interest college coaches as well.
