One of the biggest names gaining traction right now down south is Jackson Bellamy Jackson Bellamy 6'6" | 305 lbs | OL Clarkson Football North | 2024 State CAD . The 6-foot-6, 305-pound offensive tackle is as nasty as you’re going to find on the recruiting trail. With great size and hands, it’s not a surprise to see him already possessing four D1 offers including the University of Maine, Dartmouth, Charlotte, and Western Illinois. With Bellamy still having one more year before he makes his decision, I expect that offer list to grow.
Bellamy plays for Canada’s elite prep program ‘Football North’ who competes out of Clarkson, Ontario. Football North has been around for roughly eight years but they have been notorious for sending top Canadian talent south of the border. Bellamy is definitely going to be another who joins those ranks.
What separates Bellamy is not only size, but the speed he posses with that frame. It’s one of the quicker get-offs you will see from the class of 2024 tackles. A trait that is certainly appealing to college scouts is the stamina Bellamy brings. One of the benefits of playing at Football North is that Bellamy gets to play against real quality talent in the U.S. Last year Bellamy had the chance to up against Ohio High School powerhouse St. Edwards, and dominated his side of the line for all four quarters. Most recently, Football North scrimmaged Maryland’s elite High School program in St. Frances Academy. Bellamy had the chance to get one on one reps with some of the top edge rushers in the country that saw him getting the better part of the majority of those reps.
The biggest indicator on whether or not Bellamy will start hearing from those power 5 schools will be based on if he can get a little more sound in his lateral movement. His first kick step is elite and D1 quality but the one aspect you hope to see improve in the coming season is that he keeps his feet a little more solid when he’s fighting for leverage. Outside of those minor tweaks you’re looking at one of the best Canada’s got out of Hamilton, Ontario.
