2023 Team Preview Manassas Park

<!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>The Manassas Park Cougars are back for 2023 after not having a season due to a number of factors in 2022. Head Coach Mark Teague has reinvigorated the culture and community in Manassas, with a competitive season expected this fall. Many of us are thrilled and happy that football is back in Manassas Park, Coach Teague shared his thoughts on what it has been like recently:</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><em>Last year was a very difficult year for not only Manassas Park Football, but the high school and community as a whole. Students and faculty have told me that things were simply not the same and a&nbsp; noticeable void was there with no football games nor atmosphere to draw school spirit from. With my arrival to Manassas Park High School, I assessed the landscape of the school, the program and the community. From there, I formulated a plan to not only return football back to Manassas Park for the '23 season, but build a solid foundation that would make the notion of "no football" at Manassas Park a thing of the past. The plan involved building relationships. I reached out to seniors that were not able to play during the '22 season to get their input, thoughts, and feelings about the school. I used this to build a relationship with juniors that would be seniors during the '23 season and instilled a leadership role with them by getting them to recruit our hallways. I developed a strong relationship with our band director Molly Brolaski. Full support from the band is vital. The pulse they have with the school is unmatched. Teaching at the school and developing relationships with kids in class was huge as well. At 6'2 and close to 260 lbs. Sedeno will be one of the biggest lineman in the entire conference this fall. Can you imagine what guys like Sedeno went through last year not having a football team? A solid 6'0 260 lbs. with good movement expect to see Romero terrorizing offensive lineman and making plays out of the backfield for the Cougars. I truly believe that Coach Teague is committed and this squad will be special for years to come. They're will be some growing pains but expect them to compete soon especially with the underclassmen they have coming in. </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph -->
