The University of Northern Colorado held a mega camp yesterday, hosting a handful of college programs and hundreds of student-athletes from various locations around the country. Camp attendees ranged from incoming freshmen to current junior college players, all chasing the opportunity to land on a college’s radar and potentially earn a scholarship.
One person could not possibly see every kid, and limited reps did not help. However, there was a real opportunity for players to shine, which happened for more than a few attendees. Cory Jackson Cory Jackson 6'1" | 170 lbs | DB Eaglecrest | 2024 State CO (CB) from Eaglecrest, Brendon Crispe Brendon Crispe 6'9" | OL Arapahoe | 2024 CO (OT) from Arapahoe, and Jackson Quammie Jackson Quammie 6'1" | WR Brighton | 2024 CO (WR) from Brighton are three 2024 prospects who earned Division I offers from UNC after putting on outstanding performances throughout the camp.
The cool thing about mega camps is that there are other college coaches in attendance, giving prospects the opportunity to earn offers from other institutions as well. In fact, a few D2 programs that were in attendance offered a handful of the campers. Black Hills State University offered Colton Mills-Younger Colton Mills-Younger 6'2" | 225 lbs | TE Poudre | 2024 State CO (TE) from Poudre, Ramon Pacheco Ramon Pacheco 5'11" | 175 lbs | DB Pine Creek | 2024 State CO (DB) from Pine Creek, and Hunter Hamilton Hunter Hamilton 6'1" | 225 lbs | LB Columbine | 2024 CO (DE) from Columbine following the camp.

There were a lot of head-turners at the camp who undoubtedly earned a spot on the radars of multiple programs during the camp. Recruiting is a process that involves grinding it out at camps and building relationships with coaches in hopes of finding a good fit at the next level. Not everyone has the same camp experience, but each camp attendee has an opportunity to learn and grow, making yesterday’s event a success for many student-athletes.
