2024 6'3 200 QB - [player_tooltip player_id='396921' first='Tyler' last='Budge'] - Weddington

[player_tooltip player_id='396921' first='Tyler' last='Budge'] is a gunslinger, and his arm talent is absolutely off the charts fantastic. Budge has an extremely quick release, and he's fearless in the pocket and as a scrambler. With a whopping 3,471 passing yards and 40 TD passes, he won the SCC Offensive Player of the Year Award unanimously. The 3 star QB led his Weddington squad to a 13-2 overall record last season, and my prediction is that the Warriors make another run at an undefeated season this Fall. Budge already has D1 offers from App State, Liberty, ODU, JMU, Bryant, and more, however, if he performs like he did last season, then I believe that the power five conference offers will follow. [player_tooltip player_id='396921' first='Tyler' last='Budge'] is flying relatively unde[player_tooltip player_id='713060' first='r' last='t']he radar right now, and he's one of the top performing QBs in the state.

2024 6'5 210 QB - [player_tooltip player_id='469428' first='Whitt' last='Newbauer'] - Cardinal Gibbons

[player_tooltip player_id='469428' first='Whitt' last='Newbauer'] earned All-Conference honors in 2022, and he's in a great position to dominate his opposition yet again this Fall. As an avid participant in offseason 7v7s, Newbauer's game continues to look strong, and he's clearly on track to start off the new season fast. In 2023, the Crusaders will look to avenge their postseason loss to Millbrook last year, and, with [player_tooltip player_id='469428' first='Whitt' last='Newbauer'] under center, I believe that there's a strong chance that they get the job done this year. Schools like Bethune-Cookman, Central Michigan, Samford, and Wofford have all sent an offe[player_tooltip player_id='713060' first='r' last='t']o Newbauer, and there's no doubt in my mind that there's many more to come. Cardinal Gibbons will be very competitive in the state this year, and it wouldn't surprise me at all if [player_tooltip player_id='469428' first='Whitt' last='Newbauer'] puts forth his greatest statistical season yet.

2024 6'1 190 QB - [player_tooltip player_id='203888' first='Mason' last='Fortune'] - Millbrook

[player_tooltip player_id='203888' first='Mason' last='Fortune'] completely balled out for Millbrook last season, and he put up huge numbers along the way. He threw for more than 4,000 passing yards and 38 TDs, with an additional rushing TD as well. During the offseason, [player_tooltip player_id='203888' first='Mason' last='Fortune'] always puts in the hard work necessary to get better. He's also a highly competitive baseball player who has the potential to be a next level ball playe[player_tooltip player_id='713060' first='r' last='t']oo. There are three 7v7 camps in NC that Fortune will compete in this month alone. He's a tenacious competitor who thrives in difficult game situations, therefore I fully expect Millbrook to dominate their competition again in 2023. It will be very difficult to quiet Millbrook's passing game with a playmaker like [player_tooltip player_id='203888' first='Mason' last='Fortune'] at quarterback fo[player_tooltip player_id='713060' first='r' last='t']hem.

2024 6'1 185 WR - [player_tooltip player_id='147622' first='Jordan' last='Shipp'] - Providence Day

[player_tooltip player_id='147622' first='Jordan' last='Shipp'] is the #1 ranked receiver in North Carolina's 2024 class. The Providence Day Captain earned more than 1,000 yards receiving last year, and he did so with only 62 pass receptions. Shipp scored 15 total touchdowns to go along with his yards, so it's safe to say that he had one of the most dominant receiving performances in the state last Fall. The Providence Day Chargers' offense will continue to score a lot of points this upcoming season, and I fully guarantee you that [player_tooltip player_id='147622' first='Jordan' last='Shipp'] will be one of their primary contributors. Shipp's recruitment status remains open, and his top eight offers are from: UNC, Michigan, VT, NC State, UMD, UK, GT, and Cincinnati. He's undoubtedly one of the top receivers in the state, if not the best.

2024 6'3 175 WR/CB - [player_tooltip player_id='280033' first='Alex' last='Taylor'] - Grimsley

[player_tooltip player_id='280033' first='Alex' last='Taylor'] is a top three ranked wide receiver in the state, and, with a 1,000 yard season in 2022, he put forth one of the most superb receiving efforts of the year. The four star recruit is a two way player, and he proved that last year with a stellar display of defensive back skill. He consistently uses his widespread knowledge and experience at receive[player_tooltip player_id='713060' first='r' last='t']o make himself a better defender, and I cannot wait to watch him shutdown opposing pass catchers in 2023 fo[player_tooltip player_id='713060' first='r' last='t']he Whirlies. [player_tooltip player_id='280033' first='Alex' last='Taylor'] recently had his official visit at Clemson, but the Tigers are only one of many elite D1 programs that've offered him. [player_tooltip player_id='280033' first='Alex' last='Taylor']'s commitment next season will be one of the most highly anticipated player commitments in the state, and there's zero doubt in my mind that whichever program he joins instantly becomes more competitive on both sides of the ball solely because of him.
