THE VILLAGES – As we look back on the 2023 Florida HS 7v7 Association event this past weekend at The Villages Polo Club, there was one common theme – talent!

While many programs who came to the two-day event had prospects on visits or at other off-season things, there was certainly not a shortage of talent on hand.

Teams came from all over Florida to compete in the 7-on-7 and in the lineman competition, and there were several talented young men who turned heads.

As we had the pleasure of walking all fields and talking to athletes, coaches and parents who attended, it was certainly something that was a showcase and one that these young men will remember.

Over the next few days, we will recap some of the talent that we met, watched and showed why they are being looked at by several colleges and universities nationally.

Here is a look at five prospects that you have heard about – and will continue to be the topic of recruiting conversations.

2024 – Jerome Carter III, S, 6-2, 180, Lake City Columbia. The apple not falling far from the tree can apply here as this quality football prospect follows in the footsteps of his father – an outstanding safety to attended FSU and was our No. 1 rated player when he performed. Carter can cover a lot of ground, is super athletic and will lead by example all season. He helped this program on the first day with his play-making abilities.

2025 – [player_tooltip player_id='826467' first='Waltez' last='Clark'], RB, 6-2, 198, Tampa Plant. Here is what you can call a pure ‘no brainer'. Easily one of the most versatile and athletic talents not only in Florida, but nationally. A big-time underclassman, who can run from the line of scrimmage as well as catch the ball up field. He is already at a much different level and is not afraid to compete in anything his team is involved in. One of the many talented football players that has helped to bring this program back in the statewide spotlight.

2024 – Ty'Ray Davis, QB, 6-3, 205, Apopka Wekiva. If you need a reason why this program has been one of the most exciting to watch this off-season, here he is. Orlando, Tampa, Boca Raton and at The Villages this past weekend, his ability to make plays and showcase his accuracy, decision making and arm strength. Threw for over 300 yards in the spring game as colleges watched and were totally blown away by what he brought to the table. Has the size and overall athleticism that you need to be successful.

2024 – Ty Robinson, QB, 6-4, 220, Lutz Steinbrenner. One look at this young man and the first thing that comes to mind is never missing a weight room session. He is a put-together quarterback talent that has arm strength, mobility and play-making capabilities. While he is an under-the radar talent, that will changes as more have the chance to watch him play. While quarterback is his position, his size may afford him and opportunity to maybe lineup at another spot. But for now, the 2023 season will shine the spotlight on what he brings to the table as a quarterback.

2025 – [player_tooltip player_id='826434' first='Ivan' last='Taylor'], DB, 5-11, 165, Winter Garden West Orange. You wonder why the Warriors have been a talent pipeline over the past few years, here is a reason. This underclassman is already one of the best in the state as college coaches are shaking their collective heads at the talent level he plays at. He is quick, reads plays and is physical enoughto leave his calling card. Will become one of the best in his class – and for good reason. While he's talented, he is technically sound as well.
