Here is a report on six prospects from Western schools ranked between 144 and 201. Among the group are three salty quarterbacks and a couple of big dogs on the O and D Lines.
Kooper Tichenor Kooper Tichenor 6'2" | 290 lbs | OL Holcomb | 2024 State KS , OL, 6’2”, 285, Holcomb (No. 144)
Tichenor accomplished the first goal of a center and that’s providing a solid snap. He is consistent with a quarterback under center or in the gun. The Holcomb lineman has really quick feet and a move to guard at the next level would not be out of the realm of possibility.
Isaac Martin Isaac Martin 6'3" | 205 lbs | QB Hugoton | 2024 State KS , QB, 6’3”,205, Hugoton (No. 153)
Martin can throw the ball for distance and accuracy. He does a nice job of finding open receivers and can be a threat in the running game. Martin plays three sports for Hugoton including basketball and baseball.
Seth Schwien Seth Schwien 6'2" | 190 lbs | ATH Victoria | 2024 State KS , ATH, 6’2”, 190, Victoria (No. 183)
Schwein is a skilled player who can make an impact on both sides of the game. During his junior season, he had 48 total tackles for Victoria, while on offense he made 20 total receptions and seven for touchdowns. He has good speed, nice hands, and he works hard. The question is what position will college football coaches look for him to fill for their respective programs?
Caden Morgan Caden Morgan 6'4" | 165 lbs | QB La Crosse | 2024 State KS , QB, 6’4”, 165, La Crosse (No. 186)
Morgan, an Eight-Man prospect, threw for 1,703 yards during his senior season and accounted for 25 touchdowns through the air. He has a super quick release and can throw the ball downfield. The La Crosse product can also chip in with his legs. He has rushed for 714 yards and 16 touchdowns during three seasons of varsity action.
Aiden Amrein Aiden Amrein 6'2" | 190 lbs | QB Hill City | 2024 State KS , QB, 6’2”, 190, Hill City (No. 192)
One of Amrein’s best qualities is his consistency and accuracy while throwing the ball. He has completion percentages of over 60 percent during two years as a starter for the Ringnecks. As a junior, he threw for 1,624 yards and 25 touchdowns. He can throw from the pocket and on the run. Both of those numbers were a smidge lower than his sophomore numbers of 1,689 yards passing and 32 touchdown passes.
Harlem Miller Harlem Miller 5'10" | 290 lbs | DL Medicine Lodge | 2024 State KS , DL, 5’10”, 295, Medicine Lodge (No. 201)
Miller is an interesting defensive line prospect. His numbers dropped defensively from his sophomore and junior seasons. However, over three seasons of varsity play, he has 158 career total tackles and 23 tackles for lost yardage. His legs are like tree trunks and he gets his pads low to gain leverage against opposing blockers. Every JUCO program in Kansas should be recruiting Miller.
