Thomas Blackshear Thomas Blackshear 6'2" | 185 lbs | WR Benedictine | 2025 State GA – WR – Calvary Day
It’s been a massive few weeks for one of the top young receivers not only in South Georgia, but across the state in the 2025 class. No longer an “under the radar” receiver, the Savannah native out of Calvary Day earned his biggest offer to date from the back-to-back national champion Georgia Bulldogs. Blackhear helped lead Benedictine to the 2022 state-championship last year, catching 41 passes as a junior for 641 yards and 10 touchdowns. The rising senior has an excellent frame at 6-foot-2 190-pounds and flashed D1 talent on a consistent basis throughout last year. He was a dependable option in the passing game all year long and shows the ability to stretch the field vertically while also being a threat in the screen and short passing game. He’s quick, explosive, and has no stranger to the end-zone. With Georgia on board, Blackshear also holds offers from Tennessee, Auburn, South Carolina, Kentucky, among others.
Ryan Ghea Ryan Ghea 6'5" | 220 lbs | TE Milton | 2025 State GA – TE – Milton
One of the top overall tight end prospects in Georgia regardless of class, Ghea is a promising D1 prospect who continues to add offers almost daily. Now, he’s added a new one from a program that LOVES to use the tight end. That would be the Stanford Cardinal. The talented sophomore is physical in the run game, but do to his big 6-foot-5 230-pound frame, he’s also a major weapon as a pass-catcher who can use his size to make tough catches over smaller defenders. As a junior this fall, Ghea will likely make an even bigger in the passing game than he was last year. He already has a long list of impressive offers, including ones from Notre Dame, Auburn, Ole Miss, Penn State, Miami, Texas, and many more. The Eagles have enough talent to make a 7A state championship run, and if they do, Ghea will be a big reason why. He’ll only get better and better over the next two years, and he’s an easy 7A tight end to keep an eye on this upcoming season.
Michael Hastie – Douglas County
One of the more productive linebackers in West Georgia for the 2025 class last season, Hastie is a true tackling machine who was one of the leading tacklers across the 2025 classification in Georgia last year. His play as a sophomore is being recognized, and now new offers are rolling in for the Douglass County defender. The quick, instinctive, sure-tackling linebacker was all over the field as a sophomore last fall, totaling 93 tackles and three sacks. Hastie brings plenty of size at 6-foot-2 220-pounds and showed the ability to both run and strike the ball-carrier. A heavy hitter who knows how to strike and make a fundamental tackle, Hastier brings some force behind his tackles and has a true nose for the football. He’s tough to block, shows good upper-body strength and roams the field like a lion ready to attack the running back. He made 10+ tackles in four different games and will be one of the more intimidating linebackers in the region, and possibly across Georgia, in 2023. He earned new offers this week from Minnesota, Kansas, Indiana, and North Carolina with more likely on the way.
Tavaris Dice – Langston Hughes
A big, powerful offensive lineman out of Atlanta, Dice was an absolute bully last season for Tri-Cities, but will play his junior season this fall for 6A champion Langston Hughes. He’s big and physical at 6-foot-5 280-pounds with room to keep adding weight. His size, length, physical presence, and overall potential has led to a surge in his recruitment, and this week he earned a major offer from the in-state Georgia Bulldogs. As a prospect, Dice can overpower opposing defenders with ease at times with the ability to bury them into the ground. Dice shows plenty of raw power and does a great job of getting his feet set and blowing defenders off the ball. He has a lean frame, plays with good feet, and a balanced base. He appears to be technically sound and should see even more offers come his way down the road. He currently holds offers from Georgia, Florida, Auburn, South Carolina, among others.
