Huge thank you to Neb Preps and Battle Sports for allowing me to attend the Neb Preps Se7en 7v7 Tournament. With several teams from Omaha and surrounding areas in attendance, I was able to see a lot of high-level competition. I’ll do a few articles where I will feature some of the top players throughout the two-day tournament.
Jordon Hurst Jordon Hurst 5'11" | 180 lbs | DB Omaha Westside | 2024 State NE | 2024 | CB | Omaha Westside | 5’11” 160 lbs
– Jordon has continued the momentum he gained toward the end of the 2022 season and has really evolved into a true lockdown cornerback.
– His physicality stands out right away. Jordon does not give up anything easily, using his hands and body to knock the ball loose and engaging in hand-fighting to gain position for the ball.
– High football IQ. Jordon does a great job recognizing receiver routes and can change the way he approaches each receiver based on what he sees from the offense.
– Very smooth in coverage. Hurst is extremely sticky and has shown he can mirror receivers step-for-step.
– HUGE riser this offseason!
Nolan Feller Nolan Feller 5'6" | 170 lbs | RB Millard South | 2024 State NE | 2024 | RB | Millard South | 5’6″ 170 lbs
– Nolan was a big factor in helping the Patriots keep the championship at home.
– He’s a great receiving back that was a consistent and versatile target on the offense. He can make plays coming out of the backfield or you can line him up as a receiver.
– Very shifty back with great vision that allows him to cut and juke his way through open lanes.
– Nolan looked like a legit receiver on the field with several great contested catches and running routes like a true slot receiver.
– Somebody offer this guy!!
Connor O’Neill Connor O’Neill 6'3" | 180 lbs | WR Omaha North | 2025 State NE | 2025 | WR | Omaha North | 6’3″ 180 lbs
– In a squad loaded with big names, junior receiver Connor O’Neill Connor O’Neill 6'3" | 180 lbs | WR Omaha North | 2025 State NE managed to have a great performance at the tournament.
– He was a player that QB Sebastian Circo Sebastian Circo 6'0" | 170 lbs | QB Millard North | 2025 FL looked comfortable throwing to and would look for when his other reads weren’t available.
– Connor is a taller receiver that can play above the rim and was especially tough to contain in jump ball situations.
– Great concentration through the catch process. Connor made several receptions where he had to hold on tight through contact and DBs attempting to break the ball loose.
– I like Connor to take on a bigger role in the Viking’s offense this season.
Anthony Liggins Anthony Liggins DB Omaha Central | 2025 State NE | 2025 | CB | Omaha Central | 5’10”
– Talk about a guy that’s just put his nose to the grindstone and just worked. Anthony’s development since his freshman varsity season has been great to watch.
– Liggins is a gritty cornerback that more than once was able to provide a spark for the defense when they needed it. Whether by PBU or interception, Anthony was constantly stepping up.
– Physical cover corner that enjoys playing press, hand-fighting when the ball is in the air, and just tough in general.
– Very smart DB that can pick up on offensive schemes, call out pre-snap reads, pick up receiver switches, etc. Competes mentally and physically at a high level!
Owen Bogacz Owen Bogacz 5'8" | 155 lbs | WR Papillion-La Vista | 2025 State NE | 2025 | WR/ATH | Papillion-La Vista | 5’9″ 155 lbs
– Owen is an under-the-radar standout for the Monarchs that is shaping up to be one of the top slot receivers in the 2025 class.
– He is extremely consistent at creating separation regardless of who you put on him.
– Owen is very precise with his routes/footwork and has great burst coming out of his breaks.
– Even though he’s a slightly smaller receiver, he is incredibly tough and will not hesitate to go up for a contested catch even if it means a tough landing.
