Today we are going to get caught up on the mid-week camp news and notes taking place. We have a look at prospects that have the potential to have big seasons in 2023 as well as prospects who have the potential to light up Friday nights for several seasons.
Dizzy Dean Dizzy Dean QB Elkins | 2024 State AR -Quarterback-Elkins-2024
At the Farmington team camp, Dean looked to be ready for the upcoming season. He had the opportunity to put his strong arm on display. He connected several times on deep passes, throughout the camp. Dean also was able to put his mobility on display and use his speed and shiftiness to make opposing defenders miss. Dean had a monster 2022 season, and he has the potential to have an even stronger 2023 football season. He is a prospect to keep an eye on this season.
Parker Nix Parker Nix 6'2" | 180 lbs | QB Rogers | 2026 State AR -Quarterback-Bentonville West-2026
The Bentonville West signal caller looked extremely comfortable at the Arkansas Razorbacks camp in Fayetteville today. Parker Nix Parker Nix 6'2" | 180 lbs | QB Rogers | 2026 State AR has an accurate arm, and he was fitting some tight throws into his receivers today. He was able to showcase his strong arm today as well. Nix has the arm strength and the accuracy to keep opposing defensive secondaries honest. Over the next couple or seasons, he has the potential to light up Friday nights. Keep an eye on Nix!
Samuel Hicks Samuel Hicks 6'4" | 300 lbs | OL Booneville | 2026 State AR -Offensive Line-Booneville-2026
The Booneville Bearcat offensive lineman is a powerful run blocker. He has the ability to punish opposing defensive linemen. Hicks looks to finish every block and then find a second or third defender to block in the process. He does an impressive job of pass blocking and he had a good showing this week in Fayetteville. Hicks is a prospect to watch out for over the next couple of seasons with the Bearcats.
Davian Hall-Defensive Back-Elkins-2025
Davian Hall is one of the most versatile prospects in the class of 2025. On the offensive side of the ball, he is a consistent target in the passing game for the Elks. Meanwhile, on the defensive side of the ball he can play the safety or cornerback spots with impressive effectiveness. Hall has the speed and size to be a factor on both sides of the ball for the Elks this season. I look for him to have a strong season on both sides of the ball for Elkins. He has the potential to see playing time on Saturdays in the future.
Hunter Marshall Hunter Marshall 5'8" | 245 lbs | OL Farmington | 2024 State AR -Offensive Line-Farmington-2024
The Farmington offensive lineman is shifting from the center position to the guard spot this upcoming season. Marshall is proving to be a steady run blocker while continuing to show off his power as a pass blocker. Marshall has a strong team camp performance on Wednesday, and I look for him to build off of that performance. The Farmington offensive line looks to be coming together early in the offseason. Keep an eye on Marshall as we approach the 2023 season.
Kaleb Johnson Kaleb Johnson 5'7" | 165 lbs | RB Fayetteville | 2026 State AR -Running Back-Fayetteville-2026
Kaleb Johnson Kaleb Johnson 5'7" | 165 lbs | RB Fayetteville | 2026 State AR had the opportunity a few days ago to put in some work at the Tulsa camp. He put on display his quickness and ability to make defenders miss. Johnson has a second gear when he gets into the open field. He does a good job of catching the ball out of the backfield. Johnson is a reliable receiver and can be used effectively in the passing game. Look for Johnson to have some strong seasons in Fayetteville the next couple of years.
