Lone Star Recruiting News and Notes 6-19-23

The recruiting and camp news is not slowing down one bit. It was another busy week with plenty of recruiting headlines making news across the state of Texas. Let's start a new week with a recap of the recruiting news from the past week.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>Jaxon Hart-Tight End-Brock-2024</strong></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>The Brock tight end is blowing up from a recruiting perspective. Hart runs smooth routes and is a problem for opposing defenses to account for on the field. He uses his athleticism well to create separation. Hart high points the football well and is a threat in the red zone. Over the past week, Hart earned scholarship offers from Brown, Lamar, and Eastern Illinois. He has the potential to do big things at the next level and I expect a strong 2023 football season from the talented tight end.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>Nate Palmer-Running Back-Decatur-2024</strong></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Nate Palmer is a difficult running back to bring down. Whether it be on the ground or catching a pass, the talented Palmer finds plenty of ways to hurt the opposing defense. He is a running back that does an excellent job of allowing the rushing lanes to develop. Palmer will not be brought down on initial contact. The talented Decatur running back recently committed to the TCU Horned Frogs. The 2024 class is shaping up to be a strong one in Fort Worth. Palmer has the potential to have a massive 2023 season and is a prospect to keep an eye this season.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>[player_tooltip player_id='583347' first='Trevor' last='Short']-Defensive Back-San Antonio Brandeis-2024</strong></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>[player_tooltip player_id='583347' first='Trevor' last='Short'] is a cornerback that reads the play extremely well. He has the athleticism to play the ball while it is in the air. He does a great job of playing aggressively without picking up penalty flags. The talented Brandeis defensive back earned a scholarship offer from Texas A &amp; M-Commerce recently. He is a player that has the instincts and speed to perform well at the next level. Short is a player to watch out for this upcoming season.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>[player_tooltip player_id='254434' first='Tyson' last='Timms']-Tight End-Aledo-2024</strong></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>[player_tooltip player_id='254434' first='Tyson' last='Timms'] is a versatile prospect for the Aledo Bearcats. He is an impressive blocker and has no trouble clearing rushing lanes for his teammates. Meanwhile, he does a good job of getting open for his quarterback. Timms is a target that can be counted on in the red zone. The Aledo tight end is a tough player for the opposing defense to account for on the field. Last week, Timms earned a scholarship offer from Lamar University. Timms is a prospect to watch out for this upcoming season.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>Kewan Lacy-Athlete-Lancaster2024</strong></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Kewan Lacy is an explosive play just waiting to happen. He is a tremendously versatile player and can line up at running back or be split out at the wide receiver position. Lacy is a nightmare for opposing defenders to bring down. He does an excellent job of being able to shake off tackles. Lacy can turn a short gain into an explosive one in the blink of an eye. Lacy is a prospect that is starting to narrow down his college choices. The top six are Arizona State, Ole Miss, TCU, Nebraska, Baylor, and Miami. His recruitment will be an interesting one to watch over the next few days.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>Cade Braziel-Defensive Back-Decatur-2024</strong></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>The Decatur safety is a physical defensive back that does a good job of playing the ball while it is in the air. He is a sure tackler that does a good job wrapping up the opposing ball carrier. Braziel is a defensive back that is always around the ball carrier. Over the weekend, he earned a scholarship offer from Hendrix College in Arkansas. Braziel is a prospect to watch out for over the next few months for Decatur.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph -->
