Finishing 9-3 on the year, Don Bosco went on a 7 game winning streak before falling to Bergen Catholic in the final round of the NJSIAA tournament. It's no surprise to anyone that Don Bosco is going into 2023 with another loaded roster. We are familiar with players like [player_tooltip player_id='606226' first='Logan' last='Bush'], Lamont Lester and [player_tooltip player_id='366484' first='Jordan' last='Thomas'] by now, however, this article will shine the light on players that will be stepping up in 2023 and playing a bigger role for this program. A 2025 fullback, Hunter has a quick first step and initiates the hit to seal off defenders to make big running lanes for the ball carriers. He'll keep his feet churning and drive the defenders backwards as he clears the path for his back. The soon to be junior QB will be filling some big shoes, but from what he was able to do at the JV level for Don Bosco indicates he is extremely prepared. A QB with an extremely quick release, Charlie throws a pretty ball with the appropriate amount of air underneath it. He is patient in the pocket and lets the play develop, never getting too eager to let the ball loose too early. One of the most impressive skills Charlie displays is his ability to throw on the run. He is able to square up his shoulders as he rolls outs and still remains extremely accurate. With a quick first step, Bobby is able to fly by the corner and use his hands to catch away from the body or catch the ball in traffic. Bringing in 30 total tackles, forcing 2 fumbles, and intercepting the ball twice, Conor is a ball hawking safety for the team. A straight up play maker, Conor has the instincts necessary to play the safety position and to fly from sideline to sideline to cover the entire field. He is an extremely reliable tackler and is always digging at the ball to force it loose. Watch his highlights and you will find him stripping the ball from a receiver right before they get to the end zone. He is relentless on the line and will pursue the ball carrier to swallow them up. Don Bosco will have one of the best defensive lines in NJ with Aidan and [player_tooltip player_id='366484' first='Jordan' last='Thomas'] lining up there. Aidan has also been perfecting his skills this off season by being involved in camps and showcases.
