Future Freaks Prospect Camp, Post-Camp QB Notebook

We now feel more comfortable listing Kiski Area’s Carson Heinle Carson Heinle 6’2″ | 180 lbs | QB Kiski Area | 2025 State PA as a top-ten quarterback in the class of 2025. Looking back, I remember watching tape and trying to figure out who will fill out the back end of the top ten. I remember not being able to deny Carson Heinle Carson Heinle 6’2″ | 180 lbs | QB Kiski Area | 2025 State PA ‘s tape and production. Since that notion, I have seen Heinle work two to three times this offseason. His performances have done nothing to warrant a drop on our upcoming ranking update, in fact, he could and will likely see a rise on said list. Heinle brought the same alpha energy he brings to every event he attends, all while paying attentively to coaching his way. Love the rhythm and timing he throws with. There’s hardly any chemistry to be had at events, so Heinle being consistently accurate and on time is a testament to his abilities. We are fans of the Kiski Area man behind center.

I’ve had seemingly an entire offseason of looks at Freeport’s Drew Ross Drew Ross 5’10” | 150 lbs | QB Freeport | 2026 State PA . Love this kid’s work ethic, love his commitment to getting better at the position. That being said, this might be the best session I’ve seen out of the young man this year. I was present for some promising 7v7 games of course, yet I want to see him perform well with college coaches present. I think Drew Ross Drew Ross 5’10” | 150 lbs | QB Freeport | 2026 State PA did just that. Firing the ball with confidence, with purposeful intent. Accurate strikes on out-breaking routes, a solid sign that his arm strength is getting better. I imagine the young passer went through some new drills that could have caught him off guard, hardly the case. Everyone present had good things to say about Ross afterward.

A surprise at our camp and a real pleasure to watch as per usual. It’s been almost two years since the last time I had the opportunity to see Gateway’s Brad Birch Brad Birch 6’0″ | 190 lbs | QB Gateway | 2024 State PA , formerly out of Jeannette HS. Nothing at this camp was new or too much for Birch to handle. Advanced in all things quarterback, Birch showed up and flashed exactly what I brag to others about who haven’t seen him thrown in person. He flashed the natural arm talent that not many in his state rival. An effortless, mechanically sound release that requires little lower body torque to get the ball from mid-field to end zone. You’d have a tough task finding a prettier passer than Brad Birch Brad Birch 6’0″ | 190 lbs | QB Gateway | 2024 State PA , so coaches and media alike had a blast watching the kid spin it to wideouts all morning. Birch was named MVP, the top man among a legitimately solid quarterback group. Birch has Prep Redzone in his corner.
My western Pennsylvania guys and coaches know how much I like Quadir Stribling Quadir Stribling 6’1″ | 160 lbs | QB Serra Catholic | 2025 State PA , this dating back to November when he posted his sophomore tape. He caught my attention splitting time between himself and Tiger Ward at QB. Since, I’ve been close to stamping the kid as a premier QB to know among his 2025 classmates. His performances at the WV PAElite 7v7 and this past Future Freaks have got him closer to that notion. Stribling was probably the QB MVP not named Brab Birch. Now a real 6’2.5, Stribling is showing growth both in size and as a passer. The young man boasts an even-keel personality combined with an even-keel feel in the pocket, never getting too high or too low after throws. The kid flashed great arm strength, more importantly, great accuracy on slants, comebacks, and posts. Effortless at times. I will say, I wonder what his ceiling could be if he becomes more assertive in the weight room. He still has ample time to bulk up, but effort in this area would excite potential suitors down the line.

Very happy to see this young man when I did, he’ll now be included in the 2024 rankings. Not sure how I missed a 1st-Team All-Conference LB and 2nd-Team All-Conference QB out of Jeannette. He’ll be represented and an eval on his tape will come at a later date. We joked about needing a birth certificate for the kid to show up at the camp, that’s because he boasts a solid 185-pound build, standing at 6’1, too. Phenomenal placement across the board, quarterbacks at the camp were tasked with hitting a myriad of throws, so Molter firing rockets to kids accurately showed me he was ready for anything thrown at him. Molter transitioned to LB drills during this too, an area he was all too familiar with, which caught me off guard. That was until I checked out his Hudl and realized his experience at the position. Excited to dissect said tape.
Much like Molter, Sam Patton Sam Patton 6’0″ | 190 lbs | QB Shenango | 2025 PA will most likely be added to the 2025 PA rankings when we update them late July. His sophomore tape, 4 minutes long, will most likely give him the nod, with his performance at this camp solidifying his case. I’m in the dark on most things Shenango HS, yet taking a quick look, more of the program’s athletes should be represented on our site. That’ll come in time, Patton coming out and looking good has me ready to do just that.
Tristan Reed
Tristan Reed
Impressed with this 2026’s downfield depth perception, his ability to target guys downfield in stride caught my eye. That was secondary to Tristan Reed’s 6’4 frame. Said frame caught my eye before anything. He’s already working with a promising arm and size that should make everything easier for him early on in his career. We know how nuanced the quarterback position is, so Reed has a ways to go before he makes significant strides in the recruiting world. That being said, he’s going to be placed somewhere on our 2026 rankings. I’ll keep my eyes peeled.

I’m not supposed to write on 2027s technically, yet I’ll still highlight a couple of 2027 passers that impressed me. Those kids are listed above. Late August will see my debut 2027 rankings released on the site, with all three of these passers most likely making the cut in the form of ranking or Watchlist at the very least. I wish I could dive deeper but it’ll have to wait until August 15th.
