Skyview High School:
After a year in which they transitioned to the 4A ranks and made it to the playoffs the Hawks were one of the highlight teams at the Boise State football camp this year. With what seemed like better numbers from last year the Hawks were impressive at camp where they competed against not only some of the top teams in the state but powers like Eastside Catholic and Bishop Gorman. With a new head coach who has been apart of the program for a long time the Hawks are a school to keep an eye on as the record from last year does not explain the talent that Skyview has returning. This is a team on the rise especially after having to play more of a 5A schedule as the moved classifications.
Owyhee High School:
Owyhee is another school with a brand new coach but one who is familiar with the 5A SIC in Jason Burton. After having a really good showing at the team camp in Moscow at the University of Idaho. After starting the program just three years ago and a roster that was mainly sophomores those players are now seniors in a deep class that boast a ton of talent. Along with that talent is experience, as those now seniors have played a lot of varsity snaps. Talent can only get you so far as this team really has a bond that can only be forged through struggles and triumphs. Owyhee made the playoffs last year and this season will be competing for a top spot in the 5A SIC and in the state playoffs.
Kuna High School:
Kuna looked really good at the Boise State Camp where they consistently matched up with the top teams at the camp. They are huge upfront where the boast a massive offensive line that made huge holes for their running back all camp. They are good on defense with the ability to switch their fronts at any time. They are physical at the point of attack and as many know the game is won in the trenches and Kuna might have some of the best this season. Look for the Kaveman to really challenge if they continue to have a really good summer.
