In 2022, Ryan’s excellent play helped the Cincinnati Country Day School Nighthawks to a 10-win season where they held opponents to 18.2 points per game and advanced to the 2nd round of the playoffs. He lines up as a SS. Against the run, he quickly keys and diagnoses the play and uses his good play speed and athletic ability in pursuit. He shows very good explosiveness as he makes a big hit preventing a gain of significant yardage. Against the pass, he patrols his zone with his good athleticism while reading the QB. He locates the ball before using his quality play speed to put himself in good position to make a play before coming away with a PBU or an INT.
Highlights
In 2022, Brady’s outstanding play was a bright spot in the 2-9 season of the La Salle Lancers where they held opponents to 16 points or fewer 4 times. He lines up at MLB. Against the run, he shows good football intelligence as he quickly keys and diagnoses the run. He shows great instincts as he takes good angles in pursuit before playing at a good pad level and exhibiting very good explosiveness as he makes a big hit near the goal line preventing a touchdown. Against the pass, he does a really good job of patrolling the middle of the field while keeping his eyes on the QB. He uses his good athleticism and play speed to defend the underneath route before making a tackle preventing a gain of significant yardage.
Hayden’s excellent play in 2022 was a bright spot in the 4-7 season of the Colerain Cardinals where they held opposing offenses to 19.25 points per game. He shows good position versatility as he plays both ILB and OLB. Against the run, he quickly reads run/pass and effectively uses his good lateral quickness and agility to defeat the block from the pulling OG. He plays at a good pad level before delivering a nice form tackle preventing a first down. Against the pass, he patrols his zone while reading the QB. When the QB is outside the pocket, he displays very good closing speed and pressures the QB into making a poor decision with the football leading to an interception.
Carson’s very good play in 2022 helped the Lakota West Firebirds to a 13-win season where they averaged 35.2 points per game and advanced to the 4th round of the playoffs. He plays both OG positions. While run blocking, he fires out low and uses his quality play strength and good use of hands to drive the DT several yards off the ball. He exhibits good physical toughness as he finishes the block to the ground for a pancake. In pass pro, he plays with a good, wide base and effectively uses his hands and physical toughness to allow the QB to have adequate time to pass the ball.
Tyon’s outstanding play in 2022 helped the Fairfield Indians win 7 games. He lines up at FS. Against the run, he displays good football intelligence as he keys and diagnoses the play. He shows very good athleticism and play speed in pursuit before delivering a big hit preventing a potential touchdown. Against the pass, he effectively reads the QB and uses his quality play speed to put himself in position to make a play on the ball. He displays very good hands as he makes the interception. He exhibits very good mental toughness as he rises to the occasion in the redzone.
