3 WELL-KNOWN RETURNERS

[player_tooltip player_id='285653' first='Darrius' last='Davis'] — 6-0, 195 DB — Archbishop Rummel (2024)

The Raiders' top-ranked prospect in the rising senior class has been sidelined by injury throughout this offseason, but has remained heavily involved helping coach and encourage his teammates throughout his recovery process. And several colleges — including Stanford, Georgetown, Cornell, Columbia, Nicholls State, Southeastern Louisiana and more — have continued to offer the intelligent, instinctive tackle machine, who finished the fall with 178 stops, including six for loss. Davis is great in the box, navigating traffic or rushing off the edge and being disruptive near or behind the line of scrimmage, but shows good patience and timing in coverage as well to come away with interceptions and deflections.

[player_tooltip player_id='145357' first='Lennis' last='Finister Jr.'] — 6-0, 170 DB — Archbishop Rummel (2025)

The program's top prospect for the following class — and one of the state's best — is the standout corner whose offer list now includes a recent run of Arkansas, Nicholls State, Troy, Georgia Tech and Mississippi State. Finister has been a fixture in the Prep Redzone Louisiana rankings for the 2025 cycle from the cohort's arrival to high school, earned a more prominent role as a sophomore this fall and looked even bigger and stronger this spring for a young defensive back who was already more than willing to play physically.

JaiDyn Martin — 5-10, 170 RB — Archbishop Rummel (2024)

The rising senior "Speedy" and rising junior [player_tooltip player_id='291163' first='Norman' last='Taylor'] provide the Raiders a pair of experienced running backs that should prove invaluable as rising juniors [player_tooltip player_id='914041' first='Evan' last='Burg'] and [player_tooltip player_id='914043' first='Generald' last='Buggage'] work to succeed Casey Avrard at quarterback. Martin and his swift acceleration upfield for big gains led the way this fall with about 700 yards rushing and eight touchdowns and also proved himself a dangerous weapon in the screen game.

2 BREAKOUT CANDIDATES

[player_tooltip player_id='283984' first='Jaden' last='Dillon'] — 6-1, 270 DL — Archbishop Rummel (2026)

The big defensive lineman showed impressive flashes of his potential as a freshman this fall in the always-tough Catholic League. He already had the strength and explosiveness to overpower opponents even two and three years older and, with a productive spring and high drive and work ethic, has his Raiders coaches excited about the player he is developing into on the defensive front as he continues to improve his technique and reads.

[player_tooltip player_id='914029' first='Fred' last='Banks Jr.'] — 5-11, 260 DL — Archbishop Rummel (2025)

Dillon and Banks appear poised to be forces in a stout defensive front and defense overall this fall and beyond. Banks was out ill the afternoon of Prep Redzone's practice visit, but, like Dillon, had a strong spring according to coaches. Nose tackle Brendan Johnson and outside linebacker [player_tooltip player_id='1204736' first='Chance' last='Joseph'] are among seniors leaders in the front seven, and rising junior linebacker Greg Jones and rising sophomore defensive lineman Jewlz Barthelemy are among other notable names in Dillon and Banks' respective classes.

1 UNDERCLASSMAN TO KNOW

[player_tooltip player_id='401942' first='Carlin' last='Kinchen Jr.'] — 5-10, 170 DB/WR — Archbishop Rummel (2026)

Another 2026 prospect to know for both this fall and the years to come, Kinchen was one of 15 freshmen listed on the varsity roster in 2022 as a promising young defensive back following the footsteps of Davis and company in the secondary. He would also have potential on offense where the Raiders have a good crew of receivers coming along with Kendrick Joseph in 2025, [player_tooltip player_id='920635' first='Earnest' last='Richardson'] and [player_tooltip player_id='1348420' first='Anthony' last='Thomas'] in 2026 and [player_tooltip player_id='469475' first='Jaylan' last='Ash'] in 2027 among the top names in each class.
