We're heading to the 2025 class today to check out 5 recruits who are on the rise. Not only are they on the rise, but they're quietly doing what they need to in order to put themselves in the best spot to succeed long-term.

Freeman is coming off of his first season starting where he had a bunch of ups and downs, just as you'd expect. His flashes have been of brilliance, and heading into year 2, you'd hope to see that take another step. He's got decent arm talent and an excellent release. He doesn't struggle to launch the ball and can whip it with just his arm if he cannot bring his hips through. He's got great height and seeing the field is never an issue. If anything, he's got a full scope of things that helps him in the running game. His legs and ability to run, cannot be underestimated. He can, and he will gash you for a 50-yard TD if you aren't careful. He's quick, accelerates fast, and has really long strides. He tears up so much ground in a hurry that you almost need to put a spy on him. The problem with that is then he's 6'3" and can make just about every throw. Developing in his progressions, footwork, and the passing game as a whole is on its way there, but he's able to kill defenses with his legs as he develops. In a few years, Freeman could easily be the QB that nobody was talking about who is leading a collegiate program, and playing at a high level.

[player_tooltip player_id='852507' first='Brady' last='Newsome'] - Mishawaka - DB - 6'0" 185lbs

Newsome is a dynamic athlete who roams the backend for Mishawaka causing problems for offenses. He's got elite range and can truly glide sideline to sideline. He's explosive and comes downhill as fast as anyone. He's someone who not only trusts what he sees but then is usually correct with the decision he's making. He's got good hand/eye coordination and isn't going to drop an easy pick. He's also able to string plays out East/West and cut off positive production from the backend. He's able to tackle in space and make the open-field tackle. While there are areas in his coverage game that needs some work, his athleticism and range give him a bumper as he develops. On the year, he put up 28 solo tackles and a pair of interceptions, and forced fumbles. Newsome is a rangy DB who is just now hitting his stride and is going to blossom at the next level for the school that lands him.

[player_tooltip player_id='852488' first='Aidan' last='Miller'] - Eastern - OL - 6'8" 300lbs

Miller is someone who immediately stands out, literally and figuratively, for multiple reasons. His size and height is obvious. He towers over the field and everyone he comes across. He's the guy who stands out because he doesn't belong but in a good way. That big, able to bend, and the raw strength is impressive. He's able to deadlift 600 lbs, squat 475 lbs, bench just under 300 lbs, and clean 230 lbs. Well over the 1000lbs club as a Sophomore and still developing. The same strength translates to the field. He blows guys off the ball and puts them into the ground more often than not. However, I do feel mechanically across the board he's a bit raw. The size, strength, and other intangibles are there to develop into an elite Tackle at any level, however, if he can get the mechanical part of the game up to his natural abilities, he's going to take off like a rocket ship. Miller is someone who should be watched by every school this fall because if he takes that next step, you don't want to be the last coach knocking on his door.

[player_tooltip player_id='852493' first='Caleb' last='Beeler'] - Lawrence North - LB - 6'0" 185lbs

Beeler is a really good athlete who is able to come downhill, fill gaps, and be a physical presence for the defense when they need it. He's got the ability to drop back as well as come play the run. He's able to make tackles through traffic as well as in the open field. He can get off blocks and track down the ball carrier from a negative angle. He's got a decent head on his shoulders when talking about play development and not taking the bait with play design. This past season in 8 games he put up 45 tackles, 2 sacks, 4 hurries, an interception, and a batted-down pass. Showing he's capable of just about everything you need a LB to do, while still developing and working on his craft. If he hits the weight room and continues to play like he did last year, he's going to have no issue finding a home at the next level. Beeler has the physical upside you want from a LB with the same mean streak you need from someone roaming the second level of a defense. Lawrence North's defense has a really good anchor piece to build around the next 2 years in Beeler before he heads to play on Saturdays.

[player_tooltip player_id='852486' first='Jack' last='Diroll'] - Mishawaka Marian - WR - 6'1" 170lbs

Diroll may be the biggest wildcard in the stack from today's piece. His raw ability to change direction, shift his weight, be light on his toes, and have the twitch he's got is very exciting to see. He's off the line quickly and has no problem accelerating. He's got fantastic top-end speed which lets him run by defenders who are flat-footed. While there are times he doesn't quite have that same explosive speed and twitch, I feel it's more of an endurance and development thing. Usually, it's later in the game and the lights are bright when he loses some of that twitch and ability. If he gets the stamina up, I see no reason for anyone to be able to keep up with him. I also think he's a guy who simply needs more opportunity. Good coaching adjusts to the players around you. Diroll gives you a pretty nice, and flexible, piece to use. He's able to play on the outside and have success downfield as well as come into the slot and get open and then make guys miss. I'd argue he's almost better with the ball in his hands, but his size and ability to win contested catches is why he's usually used as such. Diroll strikes me as a guy who isn't going to be fully unleashed until he gets to the next level and has a position coach who can get every ounce out of him. A bright future lies ahead for Diroll in my opinion and I would recommend putting him on your list of guys to snag now.
