On Thursday, the University of South Florida opened the doors to its mega camp which attracted college coaches from throughout the country, and by the end of the day, talent emerged as may jumped onto the radar screen.
We have already given you five football players who caught the attention of several people on hand. Now, we will add to that with five more players who impressed.
2026 – Dillon Rose Bailey, QB, 6-2, 185, Valrico Bloomingdale. There are a number of rising sophomore prospects that many are talking about, but here is someone you better start paying attention to. While he still has a long way to go, this is someone who can beat you with his arm as well as his legs, extending plays. He showed at the mega camps that as he matures and learns more about the game, he will be among the best in this state.
2025 – Nico Boyce, QB, 6-0, 190, Naples Barron Collier. Having watched this impressive talent over the past two years, this is someone who has found a system that fits what he does best. While he has a strong and accurate arm – which he displayed on Thursday – he also can run the ball, extending plays. At the mega camp, several college coaches were watching his drills and were impressed. In addition to what he does on the football field, he also posted a 3.15 GPA.
2025 – Trent Dubuc Trent Dubuc 5'10" | 175 lbs | WR Fort Lauderdale Gibbons | 2025 FL , WR, 6-0, 180, Fort Lauderdale Cardinal Gibbons. When you are the son of a football coach, the oner thing that is automatic is work ethic and this impressive underclass standout has shown that he is ready to make an impact this coming season. With his older brother enrolling at USF this summer as a long snapper, Trent showcased some skills at the mega camp as college coaches at all levels were watching him throughout the competition. Has the chance to be very special for one of the top 2M programs in the state.
2024 – Clarence Gaspard, DE, 6-2, 220, Orlando Dr. Phillips. Ask anyone who has watched this young man perform and all will tell you that he may be one of the most underrated prospects in the Sunshine State. He truly made a major impact during drills and competition, and as college coaches watched him dominate, they were surprised that more attention wasn’t being paid. He is strong and quick off the ball.
2024 – Rick Penick, Slot, 5-9, 160, Lakeland. After making his way from Ridge Community School, this may be one of the most impact prospects that the region will have this coming season. A really tough matchup as he showed on Thursday – not only because he has blazing speed, but he is one of the top route runners and creates a mismatch against many safeties who draw the assignment of covering him. Will be an important part of the Dreadnaught’s attack in 2023.
