The 2023 football season is right around the corner and we looked into our archive to check out some of the top players in the state that we haven't had a chance to write about yet. This will be a new series where we break down the film of prospects that we haven't covered yet or prospects that we haven't written in over a year. Check back every week for a new batch of prospects as we take our “First Look.” Today, we're breaking down three prospects from the state's 2025 class with a running back theme.

During his sophomore season, [player_tooltip player_id='848063' first='Jake' last='Krebsbach'] was a heat-seeking missile at the linebacker position and he definitely fits the mold of a prototypical middle or inside linebacker in a different defensive scheme. He gets from Point A to Point B in a hurry and you can tell that he has really good vision and high on-field IQ. That's what allows him to get to the ball carrier so quickly. And when he gets there, he usually has bad intentions as he had some smashing tackles last season. Another part of his film that we really liked was his ability to move around and play inside or outside at the linebacker position. We're looking forward to seeing more of Krebsbach this season.","_player_evaluations_0_evaluation":"field_62aba51aecf34","player_evaluations_1_player":["847998"],"_player_evaluations_1_player":"field_62ab9d62ecf2c","player_evaluations_1_override_profile_image":"","_player_evaluations_1_override_profile_image":"override-player-profile-image","player_evaluations_1_not_in_database":"","_player_evaluations_1_not_in_database":"field_62aba48cecf2d","player_evaluations_1_evaluation":"When we pulled up tape of [player_tooltip player_id='847998' first='Rashawd' last='Davis'] at the running back position, we saw the stats first and figured there were going to be a few explosive plays because of his yards per carry and touchdown numbers. Then the film began and from the very first play, you see that explosive play and it just keeps going the more you watch. Davis has incredible lateral movement and is an absolute nightmare when he's in a 1 on 1 situation in space. He's so incredibly shifty and gets in and out of his cuts so fast that a defender doesn't have nearly enough time to react and make a play. Davis is not the biggest running back so that speed and quickness is the name of the game. But he also showcased an ability to bounce off defenders and you can tell that he has some serious strength to his game in the upper body. Davis was truly dynamic last season.","_player_evaluations_1_evaluation":"field_62aba51aecf34","player_evaluations_2_player":["318135"],"_player_evaluations_2_player":"field_62ab9d62ecf2c","player_evaluations_2_override_profile_image":"","_player_evaluations_2_override_profile_image":"override-player-profile-image","player_evaluations_2_not_in_database":"","_player_evaluations_2_not_in_database":"field_62aba48cecf2d","player_evaluations_2_evaluation":"Our final prospect is another running back with [player_tooltip player_id='318135' first='Tate' last='Hawf'] rounding out this week's film review post. And compared to Davis, you can definitely say that Hawf is a workhorse back and he's going to churn up the yards and put up some numbers this season. Hawf lined up primarily at tailback in a backfield that featured two other running backs. Hawf was close to eclipsing 1,000 yards last fall and we can definitely see him hitting that number and then some with another strong season. Hawf was at his best on pitch and toss plays that got him to the outside because he was incredible in space. Similar to Krebsbach, you could tell that Hawf has really good vision with the ball in his hands. He reads blocks well and explodes into the correct running lane. He also showed the ability to make catches out of the backfield.","_player_evaluations_2_evaluation":"field_62aba51aecf34","player_evaluations":3,"_player_evaluations":"field_62aba7547dc44"},"mode":"edit","alignText":"left","anchor":"acf-block-64960c424459f"} /-->
