David Beasley David Beasley 5'10" | 155 lbs | DB Centennial | 2024 State NM , Centennial: Nobody rose faster or higher than Beasley, a talented defensive back for the Hawks. Beasley was perhaps overshadowed by others on Centennial’s outstanding defense in 2022 but he proved to be an excellent DB with 30 tackles and 5 pass breakups. He has been busy on the recruiting front, recently picking up his first offer from New Mexico Highlands a few days after attending Junior Day in Las Vegas. He has also been invited to Junior Day by Willamette University in Oregon. He attended Junior Day at Eastern New Mexico.
Mason Espinda-McChriston Mason Espinda-McChriston 6'2" | 175 lbs | ATH Bernalillo | 2024 State NM , Bernalillo: An elite athlete. Soon after older brother Jahvon Maes-McChriston signed with New Mexico Highlands, NMHU offered the 6-foot-4 Mason, a standout two-way player with 47 receptions for 712 yards and 4 TD in 2022. Defensively, he had 79 tackles, 14 passes defended and 2 INT. He’s a standout track athlete as well. He’s qualified for the state track and field meet in the triple jump.
Ben Linfoot Ben Linfoot 5'9" | 220 lbs | OL Cleveland | 2024 State NM , Cleveland: The ultimate weight room warrior. Pound-for pound, Linfoot is arguably the strongest player in the state as he proved at the recent state powerlifting championships. His combined weight of 1,315 pounds for somebody who competed in the 242-pound class is superhuman. Since then, his squat number has risen to 535 pounds. Considering his impressive strength, it’s not surprising college coaches are taking notice. He’s been invited to camp at North Texas, while Eastern New Mexico and University of Jamestown have expressed interest.
Cruz Markham Cruz Markham 6'3" | 200 lbs | TE La Cueva | 2024 State NM , La Cueva: Markham is the epitome of elite size and speed in one package. He’s listed at 6-foot-4, 200 pounds but he can RUN. He won the district 200 meters championship last weekend with a blazing time of 22.34 seconds and ran 400 meters in a district record 49.70 seconds. He’s also close to running 100 meters in under 11 seconds. He’ll compete at the state track & field championships this weekend. Markham had 32 receptions for 530 yards and 8 TD in 2022. La Cueva’s WR corps should be exceptional this fall.
Baylor Seabolt Baylor Seabolt 5'11" | 165 lbs | RB Aztec | 2024 State NM , Aztec: Seabolt might be one of the most underrated and best all-around players in the state. He had an outstanding junior season for an Aztec team that reached the Class 4A quarterfinals in 2022. He sparked the Tigers as a rusher (team-high 333 yards), receiver (58 receptions for 643 yards and 6 TD) and defender (staggering 130 tackles and 15.5 TFL on defense). He’s been a weight room warrior this off-season with a school record 62 reps at 135 pounds. He just won the district title in the javelin. Junior Day invites from Middlebury College, Carleton College, Fort Lewis College, New Mexico Highlands and Eastern New Mexico.
John Sierra John Sierra 6'2" | 210 lbs | LB Centennial | 2024 State NM , Centennial: The 6-foot-2, 210-pound Sierra has catapulted all the way to No. 4 in our updated rankings with a sensational junior campaign in 2022 followed by an impressive spring in the weight room and recruiting. He was offered by New Mexico on March 20 and has visited New Mexico State and Colorado State. Sierra had 90 tackles (51 solo), 22 tackles for loss and 1.5 sacks last fall. In March he joined Centennial’s prestigious 1,000-pound weightlifting club. Great size, speed and strength. That’s why he’ll play Division 1 football.
Jonathan Silva Jonathan Silva RB Goddard | 2024 State NM , Goddard: A two-sport standout (he’s also an outstanding baseball player for the Rockets), Silva is one of the most underrated RBs in the state. He had 170 yards rushing against eventual 5A champion Artesia last October, right after he had rushed for 294 yards against Mayfield. Those are two pretty good defenses. Listed at 175 pounds, Silva is attracting recruiting interest from New Mexico State, Eastern New Mexico and Bluffton University. Good speed and strength. Look for him to enjoy another solid season for Goddard in 2023.
