Being the main back for Donovan Catholic, there is only upside for this team and back. If you didn’t know better, you would have thought Najee was a senior in 2022. Standing at 5’11” and already weighing 180lb, he blends right in with the varsity level.
As a feature back in 2022, Najee put up incredible numbers. Rushing the ball for just under 1000 yards and scoring 13 touchdowns on the ground, Najee is a guy you may see break 5000 rushing yards in his high school career. He’s a quick decision maker with extremely quick acceleration that catches defenders off guard. Najee is not a back that is easy to bring to the ground. He’s not afraid to lower the shoulder and bring it to the upper classmen he goes up against. A star in the making, Najee may become the most talked about prospect coming out of NJ in 2026.
Amiere Massie Amiere Massie 5’6″ | 185 lbs | RB Asbury Park | 2026 State NJ is getting in his groove as a running back for Asbury Park. Another freshman with already great size, he has the speed to complement it and propel him to the next level. A downhill runner that runs with a full head of steam, Amiere is the type of running back that will bulldozering over defenders for years to come. Amiere is back that deserves our attention in 2023.
D’vonne Thorpe

D’Vonne is one the first back on the list that has the potential to be great on both sides of the ball. Another player with varsity level size already, D’Vonne only trajectory is up from here. There are plenty examples of how quick he is and how hard he is willing to run. He has agility that stands out from most backs his age, and he utilizes it not only in the run game but in special teams as well. Look for D’Vonne to deliver an impressive sophomore campaign.
Another impressive two way starter as a freshman, Jonah Glenn Jonah Glenn 5’8″ | 160 lbs | RB Jackson Memorial | 2026 State NJ is already starting to make a name for himself. Playing running back and corner in 2022, Jonah is capable of having a big impact for his team on both sides of the ball. As a runner, Jonah is very patient through the hole, and turns on his speed once he gets an inch of open space. And when he does meet a defender, you can be sure Jonah will keep his legs churning as he fights for extra yards. A soon to be household name, Jonah is going to be a touchdown machine in the near future.
If you’re looking for a back that runs with tenacity, Will Andrade Will Andrade 5’9″ | 160 lbs | RB Monsignor Farrell | 2026 NY is the kid you are looking for. Make no mistake, Will is not afraid to take a hit. If anything, he’s ready to deliver the hit every opportunity he gets. A back that is very hard to take down, Will deploys the stiff arms to keep his distance from defenders and runs low through the tackles so he can lower his shoulder for incoming defenders. Another freshman I have very high hopes for in the future, Will may also get recruited as a safety with how much he enjoy delivering the blow to ball carriers.
