Continue ReadingThe end of the school year is right around the corner, and recruitment for the upcoming senior class is beginning to heat up ahead of this summer. That’s why the Watch List series is returning once again to shed light on more unranked prospects before the ’23 campaign. It’s been awhile since we last primarily focused on the Class of ’24, and with another rankings update on the horizon, it’s time to find the next group of prospects that will increase the class to 200 ranked players.
In this third Watch List for the Class of ’24, folks will notice there’s a common theme between the four prospects featured. Each of these players have made headlines this spring in some capacity. They’re a group riding high heading into their senior summer, and they could also find themselves in the rankings during the next update.
Brax Fisher
Brax Fisher
The 2023 campaign looks to be a promising one for the Abilene Cowboys. In the previous update we raved about the improved play of Stocton Timbrook Stocton Timbrook 6’2″ | 195 lbs | QB Abilene | 2024 State KS last season, and while he’ll headline the Cowboys’ offense this fall, he’s not the only offensive weapon to be excited about. Brax Fisher emerged as one of the Cowboys’ top targets in 2022, and this season he’s primed to become their go-to guy in the passing game. He’s known for his athletic ability, but that shouldn’t overshadow his route running. Fisher recently attended the second KC Varsity Combines of this year, and he put on a clinical during one-on-one’s. His ability to get separation and win 50-50 balls makes him a tough wideout to cover. He and Timbrook could be a 1st Team All-League connection this season.
Myles Ewell
Myles Ewell
If there was ever a year to recruit offensive linemen from the Sunflower State, it’s this one. The depth of this position group for the upcoming senior class is unreal, and there’s still an abundance of talent on the outside of the rankings. For example, there’s still prospects such as Myles Ewell who have yet to be highlighted. Size is something coaches simply cannot teach. If Ewell were to debut in the next update, he’d immediately become one of the largest offensive linemen in the rankings. His 6-foot-7, 275-pound frame has intrigued multiple recruiters this spring. Since March, he’s taken Junior Day visits to Drake University, the University of Missouri, the University of Nebraska, and South Dakota State. Additionally, Ewell’s recent performance at the KC Varsity Combines earned him an invitation to the Six Star Football: All-American Showcase later this month.
Weston Langvardt

Another prospect that exemplifies the depth the Class of ’24 has at offensive line is Weston Langvardt of Chapman. After an impressive 2022 campaign, Langvardt is set to be one of the premier offensive linemen out of Class 3A this season. As a junior, Langvardt primarily lined up at right tackle for the Fighting Irish, which is where he earned 3A All-State honors and was a 1st Team All-League selection. Fast forward to this spring, he’s become one of the hottest D-II targets in the state. Just this month alone Langvardt has received offers from Fort Hays State, Northwest Missouri State, Pittsburg State, and Washburn. The 6-foot-4, 280-pound prospect is an underrated athlete, and with another big season, he could potentially land on the D-I radar.
Cade Brown
Cade Brown
This third Watch List for the Class of ’24 concludes with another Class 3A prospect that recruiters should keep an eye on. Cade Brown of Parsons is a player several coaches at the next-level would love to have on their roster next year. The 6-foot-1, 215-pound linebacker is a high-energy player that brings physicality to the table. Brown missed three games during his junior year, but when he was on the field, he was one of the Vikings’ most impactful defenders. Despite a shortened 2022 season, he’s still received interest from a few programs over the past few months. Brown has taken Junior Day visits to Pittsburg State and Washburn, and has received summer camp invitations from Emporia State, Kansas State, and Washburn. These summer showcases will be a great opportunity for Brown to bolster his résumé.
