It is time for our weekly look at the headlines catching our eye on the recruiting front across the state. We have plenty of recruiting news to look at and let's close out the week on an interesting note.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>&nbsp;<strong>[player_tooltip player_id='363590' first='Michael' last='Brownlee']-Defensive Back-Arkadelphia-2025</strong></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>The Arkadelphia Badgers always have talented prospects on both sides of the ball. That description describes [player_tooltip player_id='363590' first='Michael' last='Brownlee'] perfectly. On the defensive side of the ball, Brownlee occupies the cornerback position for the Badgers. He uses his speed well to cover opposing wide receivers and is not afraid to get physical with opposing wide outs. The talented Arkadelphia defensive back earned a scholarship offer from Arkansas Baptist earlier in the week.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>[player_tooltip player_id='149572' first='Greyson' last='Riggins']-Athlete-DeWitt-2024</strong></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>[player_tooltip player_id='149572' first='Greyson' last='Riggins'] has had a tremendous offseason. The talented DeWitt prospect displayed good speed and tremendous instincts at the Prep Redzone Showcase in Little Rock earlier in the spring. On the defensive side of the ball, Riggins opens plenty of eyes at the linebacker position. He reads the play extremely well and does a great job of getting into the opposing defensive backfield. Riggins earned a scholarship offer from Lyon College earlier in the week and I expect him to have a strong 2023 football season.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>[player_tooltip player_id='413517' first='Anthony' last='Kennedy Jr.']-Linebacker-Little Rock Southwest-2026</strong></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>The class of 2026 is starting to take shape in the state of Arkansas, and it is not disappointing a bit. Kennedy Jr. does an excellent job of defeating blocks and getting into the opposing offensive backfield. He is a linebacker that is working on his game continuously. Kennedy Jr. is a linebacker that has a high ceiling, and I would expect a strong 2023 season from the Little Rock Southwest linebacker. Earlier in the week, Kennedy Jr. earned a scholarship offer from Missouri. He has the potential to do some big things on Saturdays in the future.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>[player_tooltip player_id='216278' first='Da'Shawn' last='Chairs']-Running Back-Elkins-2024</strong></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Chairs is a versatile running back that only continues to get better every time he steps on the field. He does a great job of exploding through the hole. However, he displays great patience and has no problem allowing his blockers to set up the blocks. Chairs has done impressive work split out wide as a wide receiver. The talented Elkins' prospect has the ability to cause problems in both the run and the passing attack. Earlier this week, Chairs earned a scholarship offer from Ouachita Baptist. He has the potential to have a monster senior season.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>[player_tooltip player_id='149595' first='Landon' last='Holcomb']-Quarterback-Pine Bluff-2024</strong></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Pine Bluff signal caller [player_tooltip player_id='149595' first='Landon' last='Holcomb'] has no trouble finding his wide receivers. Holcomb has the arm strength to fit the ball into his wide receivers. He is a quarterback that can extend the play yet keep his eyes down the field while he is scrambling. Holcomb can hurt you with his arm or his legs and is a tough player for opposing defenses to account for on the field. A few days ago, Holcomb earned a scholarship offer from Arkansas-Pine Bluff. He is a prospect at the quarterback position to watch out for over the next few months.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>[player_tooltip player_id='149931' first='Kenneth' last='Jordan']-Running Back-Pulaski Academy-2024</strong></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>[player_tooltip player_id='149931' first='Kenneth' last='Jordan'] is a running back with the talent to hurt you in both the run and the passing game. Jordan has the speed to cut the run to the outside. Meanwhile, he is strong enough to carry the ball between the tackles. The talented Pulaski Academy running back has earned scholarship offers this week from Colgate, Tennessee-Martin, and Brown. I expect Jordan to have another strong season this season for the Bruins.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph -->
