There were some great quarterbacks throwing and showcasing their talents and abilities that day who needed some good receivers to help them be able to showcase it. Here are some of the ones who stood out to me.
Chance Taylor

Chance is a name to remember this season and over the next three years. The 6-foot 14 year old receiver really had a great day and was asked multiple times by players and coaches if he was really his age. He performed like a much older receiver with his route running and pass catching ability he displayed. He showed good speed, athleticism and went after the ball if it was anywhere near him, laying out for the catch if needed. He seemed to have an extra gear to catch up to deep throws and make the grab. He displayed these same abilities at the Elite Combine in St. Louis back in March.
Drake Gilkison Drake Gilkison 6'0" | 185 lbs | WR St. Joseph Central | 2027 MO | 2027 | WR | St. Joseph Central |
Another very talented young receiver to watch for in the coming years was 8th grader Drake Gilkison Drake Gilkison 6'0" | 185 lbs | WR St. Joseph Central | 2027 MO , who made the trip down from St. Joseph (MO). Drake is a talented young athlete with great size already and could play receiver or running back in high school. He competed well with the older kids and did a good job running the various routes and making catches. He had good hands on the day and surprising speed for his age. I came away impressed and have him on my radar to watch as he develops in high school.
BJ Davis | 2023 | WR | Raytown |
It seemed like every time I turned around the lightning quick Davis was making a highlight reel catch on the day.
Cameron Sanders

Sanders

Blue Springs South | 2025

| 2025 | WR | Lee’s Summit North |
I don’t know if I saw a receiver at the showcase who worked harder then Sanders on the day. He was focused and obviously came in to the showcase to impress coaches in attendance. He was another young receiver who stood out with his route running ability, quickness, speed, hands and performed with a sense of urgency and determination on each play that I love to see from players. No plays offs. No drills off. No wasted time or motion. Cameron looks like he is ready for a breakout season on a very talented Broncos team. He’s a player to watch for this season.
Bryce Page | 2024 | TE | Kearney |
The 6’5″ Page has the size of a tight end but runs like a receiver. I could picture how colleges would utilize his skills on the next level as he made plays on the day. He runs very well and can cover a lot of ground and did a nice job on his route, short, mid and deep, displaying very good hands and concentration making grabs on the day. He’s a big target but will athletic enough to go get the ball off the ground and lays out for poorly thrown passes to make plays. He and his QB Casey Rooney Casey Rooney 5'11" | 165 lbs | QB Kearney | 2024 State MO should have big years in 2023.
Ace Bindel | 2024 | TE | Liberty |
Another tight end who was impressive with his route running and pass catching ability was the physical and athletic Bindel. He went hard in every drill that was run and took no plays off. He performed with an intensity that you see in his play on the field. Ace is another TE prospect who has outstanding wide receiver skills in a tight end body at 6’4″ and can do both. He can perform in multiple roles for a team on the next level. I know he’s also a very good blocker on the field in games.
