It was a great event to cover and I provide you a look at some of the top players who were in attendance that day and performed well.
Sam Kaiser Sam Kaiser 6'5" | 210 lbs | QB Rock Bridge | 2024 State MO | 2024 | Rock Bridge |
Columbia (MO) big-time quarterback prospect Kaiser made the trip over to Kansas City to get work in despite already holding multiple D1 offers. I’ve seen Sam multiple times in games, camps and combines and have written about him, and he did not disappoint again. He displayed the strongest arm on the day, wowing receivers, parents and coaches with the distance and accuracy he put on his deep throws. At 6’5″-6’6″ 220 with very good athleticism, it’s easy to see why he has multiple D1 offers already. He showed his coachability and understanding of the game in drills. It was just a continuation of what I have witnessed from him over the past year. He is still improving and has a very high ceiling to work with. Hopefully, he get with a high caliber QB coach in college that can help continue to develop him.
Rocco Marriott | 2026 | Platte County |
Marriott is name that everyone needs to become familiar with. He looks like the next big-time heavily recruited quarterback prospect from the state that is emerging. Already 6’3″ 200 with a big arm , good mechanics and impressive accuracy and touch on his passes. Rocco also has good arm strength and can make all the throws. What is impressive about him besides his physical development is his poise and maturity he seems to possess early from the mental aspect of the game and position. He already has a couple of D1 offers after playing a limited role in 2022, but expect that to rapidly increase if what he has shown in the offseason in 7v7 and at camps such as this translates to the field in 2023.
Tillman Martin

Martin
6'4" | 200 lbs | QB
Liberty North | 2025
State
MO
| 2025 | Liberty North |
Another member of the super impressive Missouri 2025 quarterback class that was at the showcase who had a great day throwing the ball. Tillman really fires the ball and it has a lot of zip on his passes from his quick release. He plays with a nice sense of urgency and gets rid of the ball in a timely manner. A lot of times you can see young QBs hold the ball too long. Martin does not. He has no wasted motion and is quick about his work. He also showed he could make every throw, and had impressive arm strength at 6’3″. He’s one to watch in 2023 who could really take off on the recruiting scene. He plays on a talented team and will have some major D1 receivers to throw to. He’s an up next caliber prospect.
Ethan Hansen Ethan Hansen 6'1" | 175 lbs | QB Rockhurst | 2024 State MO | 2024 | Rockhurst |
A highly under valued quarterback prospect at this stage despite already having a D1 offer. the 6’1″ Hansen really showed that he has all the tools and could make all the throws you want in a quarterback. I’ve watched Ethan the past two years with his Rockhurst team, and he does a great job leading it, playing within the offense, and doing what is asked. In a showcase like this he was able to show just how good his skill set is as a quarterback. It surprised me a little bit when I watched his footwork, mechanics and how he spun the ball. He consistently delivers in all aspects and could put up big numbers in an offense that the passing game was the main focus. Still, it’s easy to understand why he picked up an early offer from Missouri State. He’s a QB that colleges around the Midwest and beyond in need of a signal-caller need to take a good long look at. Ethan can make plays and pick up yards with his feet as well and is tough.
Elijah Leonard
Elijah
Leonard
6'4" | 215 lbs | QB
Lee's Summit North | 2024
State
MO
| 2024 | Lee’s Summit North |
This Lee’s Summit North product was another player at the showcase who has everything you want and look for in a quarterback to develop. Great size at 6’4″, athleticism, big arm, coachable and understands the game. If you were looking for a physical specimen to mold as a QB then Elijah would be your guy. He’s been on my radar since he was an 8th grader as someone to keep an eye on. He originally went to Liberty North and plays some linebacker, but he transferred and really shined winning the position as the Broncos main quarterback. He’s a smart kid who does a nice job already seeing the field and understanding defenses while finding his receivers. Then he fires the ball in with nice velocity and ball placement. He’s already picked up a few D1 offers and is capable of playing QB on the highest level in my opinion. I look forward to watching him develop on the next level. He could be a name you hear really take off as he is dedicated to being his best.
Casey Rooney

Rooney
5'11" | 165 lbs | QB
Kearney | 2024
State
MO
| 2024 | Kearney |
One of the surprises to me at the showcase was the talented 6’0″ Rooney from Kearney. He caught my eye right away and I had to check on who he was. He had a bounce in his step and an energy in everything he did in drills and with his throws. He made quick work and really fired the ball with great velocity and a quick release. I was impressed with his arm on several occasions as he seemed to have one of the stronger arms there on the days. He looks as though he could be a real find for whatever college he ultimately winds up at. Hopefully schools will make there way to Kearney and evaluate his talents.
OTHERS WHO STOOD OUT
Russell Roweton – Willard – Big, strong 6’2″ QB with a nice arm who showed nice accuracy on the day with his throws.
Gage Busby -East Buchanan – Long, lean 6’5′ QB who is still developing but continues to show a lot of promise.
