This group has a ton of next-level standouts with all of these names ranging from our All-Camp 1st Team thru the 3rd Team. We covered skillsets that prospects have some development tools at their disposable to grow into a DL prospect that will be playing on Saturdays, as this also has plenty of prospects that their best football years are even ahead of them at the next-level. Let’s rock and roll.
Peyton Hora Peyton Hora 5'11" | 255 lbs | OL Chamberlain | 2024 State SD , DL, Chamberlain (SD) 2024 Twitter
I have evaluated Peyton a handful of times on tape recently and he’s one that might not have the most eye-popping testing numbers for the defensive line position, but makes up for certainly with the maximum effort this young man gives out on every rep he was given last Saturday in Aberdeen. Peyton did record an impressive 4.96 40-yard dash and from what I watched gained most of his time within the last 30 yards, showing off how much longevity Peyton has in his motor with his finish. What has already impressed me about Peyton is his release off the snap, as he winds up like a pitcher about to release the ball out of his windup and comes with great vision with his ability to leave the inside box and go find the football around the edges of the inside and I thought that skillset looked more natural from watching him in a live setting. I also believe Peyton has some good position flexibility based on where you want him on the line but is a natural fit at defensive tackle. He has picked up a couple small school offers out of state so far, and should be a defensive line prospect with good potential for local schools as we get deeper into camp season.
Treyton Hoffert Treyton Hoffert 6'4" | 200 lbs | DL Fargo South | 2024 State ND , DL, Fargo South (ND) 2024 Twitter
Treyton showed the athletic growth in his hand movements since I watched him live and in person during the 2022 season at our Prep Redzone Dakotas Showcase in Aberdeen. Another skillset that popped out about Treyton at last weekend’s showcase was the explosion he showed off with his broad jump which was one of the top amongst the DL group at 9’9 and you could engage how fluid he was within his reps that I watched especially with that finishing speed I like out of the defensive line group when they enter the backfield as Treyton’s accelerator took it up a notch. He also showed off solid and still developing vision with his versatility at 6’3 185 pounds that is still scratching his surface with his frame. The potential that Treyton has is extremely high, as a college weight room can put on plenty of frame on this in the coming years to truly evaluate how more active that explosion level can be. He received his first Division II offer recently and certainly will be one to track at camps this summer to see how much upside we see he can develop over the coming years as his best football years are well-ahead of him.
Cooper Myers Cooper Myers 6'1" | 215 lbs | DL Rapid City Stevens | 2025 State SD , DL, Rapid City Stevens (SD) 2026 Twitter
Cooper was another defensive line prospect I have evaluated this Spring and is a 2026 prospect with plenty of upside over the next couple of football seasons and showed that potential in Aberdeen last weekend. He showed off some good mixes of skillsets with his hands, as you can tell he has been working on his craft this Spring has I thought his hands showed off swifter force from what I evaluated from the 2022 season. He also showed d growth with his vision, as I believe in 1v1 reps Cooper paved himself a smoother path to the ball with this ability to curl around the edge with good footwork and mobility in his lower body. He also showed off a big motor that plays way bigger than his 5’11 205 pound measurables show off. It might be early to shout this out, but I already like this young man’s chance of playing on Saturday with his quick learning ability he has already grasped this offseason.
Hudson Parliament Hudson Parliament 6'4" | 290 lbs | DL Brandon Valley | 2026 State SD , DL, Brandon Valley (SD) 2026 Twitter
Hudson by far was my 2026 MVP from this group of defensive linemen for his reps he showed off last Saturday at the Prep Redzone Dakotas Showcase. Hudson showed off a plethora of consistent traits within his skillsets with balanced hands with his point of attack and has a quick trigger to release off his sheds quickly. The football IQ Hudson possesses for his age is off the charts in the nearly four years I have scouted the Dakotas underclassmen, as he just has that quick understanding to learn quickly and use what he’s given within the next reps. He also showed significant agility when I watched him in Indy Drills as his quick turn radius for 6’4 260 pounds certainly will pass the eye-test of college coaches this summer at the Division I level as I expect them to be shocked around the Midwest that Hudson is only going into his sophomore season. With our 2026 rankings coming out very soon, expect Hudson to be within the top of the 2026 class not just in South Dakota, but across the whole Dakotas because this young man certainly looks and plays like one that will play in the Power 5 in the near future.
Caden Hojer Caden Hojer 6'4" | 220 lbs | DL Oldham-Ramona-Rutland | 2024 State SD , DL, Oldham-Ramona-Rutland (SD) 2024 Twitter
Caden was one of invites out this group that I really wanted to see in person with the size I saw him show off in his junior season last season for Oldham-Ramona-Rutland and he didn’t just show off that size last Saturday at our Prep Redzone Dakotas Showcase. Caden is one of a few prospects too that showed up with matching measurables from what he puts out on social media which is always intriguing to see out of any prospect I evaluate in a camp setting. I liked watching the instinct on Saturday in Indy Drills and 1v1s when Caden cut at an angle as he brought the consistency you see on tape with that skillset. The biggest development Caden can grow on this offseason is the height of his release when he makes his first step as although he dominates at the 9-man level due to his size he needs to grow on his pad-level with that height and use of the hands. He certainly will be an intriguing prospect to watch for at camps this summer as I love the ceiling Caden has built for the next-level.
Quintin Westley, DL, Elkton-Lake Benton (SD) 2026 Twitter
One of the biggest movers from our December Prep Redzone Dakotas Showcase to May’s was Elkton-Lake Benton 2026 defensive end prospect Quintin Westley who moved the needle with his play last Saturday from a 3rd Team All-Camp Team nod in December over to 2nd-Team in May. Quintin has significantly improved with his burst off the line with his first step and despite being one of the smallest framed defensive linemen, this young man found a way in 1v1s to get into the backfield with ease. Quintin has gotten significantly smoother with his hands and the feisty speed he brings with them from a technique standpoint as you could tell there was more drive in his progressions he made from 2022. Quintin also improved with his testing numbers, with the most appealing numbers came with his change of direction with a 4.55 short shuttle and a 7.69 L-Drill in subpar conditions. I love this kid’s ceiling and work ethic he brings to the table, and I cannot wait to watch it continue to grow more over the next several years.
Carter Fedde Carter Fedde 6'1" | 240 lbs | DL Columbus | 2024 State NE , DL, Columbus (NE) 2024 Twitter
Time to meet our defensive line MVP from last Saturday in Columbus (NE) defensive end Carter Fedde Carter Fedde 6'1" | 240 lbs | DL Columbus | 2024 State NE . Carter started his eye with an extremely eye-popping 10-yard split and the best amongst the group at a significantly sizable 5’11 231 pounds and finished with a 4.71 40 yard dash. With my first look at Carter, he showed a bulk of tenacious instinct from start to finish of the reps I caught from him in 1v1 drills as a defensive end prospect that knows when to utilize his motor and burst all in one together. He has elite vision as well at his disposal as there isn’t a traffic area too small for this kid to use his elusive athleticism to get downhill to the ball carrier. He also plays with extremely soft hands off his sheds from what I gauged last Saturday as Carter is efficent as they come with the use of his hand placement with also excellent speed to sneak thru with great efficiency. Carter shows off a tremendous blue-collar work ethic in the trenches as from what I engaged with on tape, he brings his heavy heat of physicality on every rep he is given. He showed the college coaches what they wanted to see last Saturday and I feel the heat coming for Carter’s recruitment with even more juice coming very soon.
