Was a short and quick showcase put on by Loomis Chaffee. Despite low numbers and a lackluster performance from the skill guys in attendance, the three linemen above put on a show that made the trip worthwhile.
I’m a big fan of Thades Crump Thades Crump 6’3″ | 285 lbs | OL The Loomis Chaffee | 2024 State New E s’ game, have been from afar for some time. This was the perfect opportunity to make sure my critique of the young man saw some sort of validation. I think we met that level of confidence moving forward. Great balance in his stance, an attention to detail in terms of firing off his hands. 6’3, 15 pounds away from 300, yet the movement skills are still there. He fit right in with his top-50-ranked teammates.
Those teammates being Nino Francaville, who announced in March that he will be playing ball for Cheshire Academy this coming Fall. The other being Anthony Ndika Anthony Ndika 6’4″ | 290 lbs | OL Loomis Chaffee | 2024 State New E , a special linemen prospect that is heating up recently, deservedly so. Anthony Ndika Anthony Ndika 6’4″ | 290 lbs | OL Loomis Chaffee | 2024 State New E now has two Ivy League offers under his belt, those being Dartmouth and UPenn. Monmouth extended an offer to Ndika after seeing him work at this event. Ndika’s upper and lower bodies work in unison, displaying good knee drive and ankle balance while simultaneously firing real punches to bags. Nino Francavilla Nino Francavilla 6’4″ | 285 lbs | OL Cheshire Academy | 2024 State New E set the tone at the event, however. Energy, vocal, explosive hips and feet. Francavilla will join Dante Reno Dante Reno 6’1″ | 200 lbs | QB Cheshire Academy | 2024 State New E , Jerod, and Jacob Smith Jacob Smith 6’4″ | 225 lbs | DL Corbin | 2024 State KY , at Cheshire Academy this coming Fall, all of which played ball at Loomis last Fall.

Easily the biggest and most impressive linemen at the event, in terms of tape for sure. Losing Francaville will certainly hurt, yet deploying a line of Ndika, Crump, and Sutton should still thwart defensive fronts. Sutton is capitalizing on his tape and skill set, earning four offers in the Month of May. Some of the programs pulling on the Sutton trigger recently are Coastal Carolina, Howard U, Army WP, and Fordham. Showcases like these are just validation for coaches in attendance, guarantee you that many other coaches are waiting, straddling the line of offering before the Fall season begins.

Formerly out of Notre Dame West Haven, Jacob Staton Jacob Staton 6’0″ | 200 lbs | ATH Loomis Chaffee Ct. | 2024 State New E got in the mix with his new teammates, in a new setting. Staton’s work at the event earned him an offer out of Sacred Heart, his first offer quickly after transferring to the program. A new setting, I was completely unaware of his game and name until I got back and realized he wasn’t Jacob Sutton. Similar builds and skill sets, it was Staton who caught my attention early and often. Excited to get him ranked.
Suffield Academy
Highlights
Recent PG out of Greenville, North Carolina made the trip to Connecticut to make sure he worked under the Spring lights in front of many college coaches in attendance. I don’t think there was a better performance put on by any one Suffield prospect. Pass-catcher and play-maker at heart, yet a real chance of becoming a promising OLB prospect. At this event, however, Marcum showed off impressive athleticism throughout skill drills. Impressive stride, ate up turf like he weighs 170 pounds. Leaping ability, can catch the ball away from his body, again much like smaller DBs. As much as I’m liking Marcum at OLB, I can’t help but be intrigued by his potential on offense.
Highlights
I didn’t get eyes on the linemen present when at Suffield Academy, yet I heard from coaches and Roger Silva that Kayden Bennett Kayden Bennett 6’2″ | 245 lbs | DL Suffield | 2026 State New E and Miles Clay Miles Clay 6’5″ | 330 lbs | OL Suffield Academy | 2024 State New E performed well enough to create some buzz during and after the event. The highly-ranked freshman prospect now has offers out of UMass and Morgan State under his belt.
I didn’t get the chance to see Miles Clay Miles Clay 6’5″ | 330 lbs | OL Suffield Academy | 2024 State New E either, yet the 6’5, 330-pound tackle/guard prospect secured his first offer out of Wagner University a couple of days after the event.

Jareth Staine
Jareth Staine
Much of my attention at Springfield Central rested on the shoulders of Dwayne Early Dwayne Early 6’4″ | 190 lbs | WR Springfield Central | 2025 State New E , a top 15 prospect and a top three wideout in his class. Coming off a Pitt offer back in March, Early was the alpha at this 45-minute showcase. Size that strided well, good hand-eye location had Early come up with throws all around his body.
The real story of the showcase was the discovery of 2027 QB prospect Jareth Staine. The 8th-grade passer ended the nice securing his first non-committable offer out of Boston College. This move might’ve been premeditated, yet I wouldn’t have known because Staine was lights out all night. The young man flashed the arm strength, tagged together with an effortless flick. This immediately drew eyes, including mine. I spent the rest of the showcase watching Staine work more intensive drills. Sprint-outs where he had to move his launch point. Reps where he was tasked with evading the would-be rush, all while keeping his eyes on his target and firing an accurate ball. The young man earned what was given to him. Consider myself a fan moving forward.
