This article features four college prospects, with many of these players being from smaller or lesser-known schools.
EDGE/G | Mason Mayne Mason Mayne 6'3" | 275 lbs | DL Lawton | 2025 MI | 2025 | Lawton | Hudl
I need to pay more attention to what Lawton has going on! Mason Mayne Mason Mayne 6'3" | 275 lbs | DL Lawton | 2025 MI was a very impressive player at this showcase. Standing tall at 6’3″, he’s an imposing and well-built DL prospect. He was one of the most powerful D-Linemen of the evening, as he was consistently able to pass through blocks like they were paper tigers. Mason is able to generate a lot of power out of his stance and has a good variety of pass-rush moves that he’s experienced and successful in using. Outside of football, Mason recently threw a 59.5 in the shotput, which makes him top 3 in Michigan and top 5 in the nation for all 2025s. After seeing him in person and watching his film, I believe Mason is a Division 1 prospect.
LB | Andrew Baker Andrew Baker 6'1" | 205 lbs | LB Mona Shores | 2024 State MI | 2024 | Mona Shores | Hudl
This was the 2nd time I saw Andrew in 3 days, and he continues to impress me. Against better competition, Andrew stood out. I have five “good play” markings in my notes (which is more than just about anyone), and he looked super fast for his size as well as pretty vocal all day. Team captain, multi-sport, and high energy. I see Andrew Baker Andrew Baker 6'1" | 205 lbs | LB Mona Shores | 2024 State MI as a Division II college linebacker!
DL | Luesheono Johnson Luesheono Johnson DL Benton Harbor | 2024 MI | 2024 | Benton Harbor | Hudl
In a day full of great D-Line play, Lusheono may have been the most surprising. I didn’t know Lusheono at all before Monday, and as I spent time with the O/D line, I didn’t see Lusheono lose a rep. Power is the name of his game, as he was able to bull rush his way to the QB, oftentimes tossing the opposing lineman onto the dummy. A downside is that I didn’t see Lusheono use speed, club moves, etc to get by, but he won literally every rep I saw by overpowering everyone. A definite prospect to watch. Right now, I’d call him a D3 prospect, but I wouldn’t be surprised if a DII or FCS team took him in to develop a more well-rounded game. Amazing outing from Lusheono, and he could explode onto the scene this fall.
DB | Christopher Murphy Christopher Murphy 6'0" | 175 lbs | DB Grand Rapids Union | 2025 MI | 2026 | GR Union
As I was watching the 7on7 period, one DB kept catching my eye. Able to press, play off, doesn’t bite, great hips, and of course, doesn’t give up catches. He’s as athletic as they come and on an amazing trajectory as a young DB on an up-and-coming program playing in one of the most difficult leagues in Michigan. I was shocked to hear that Chris is a 2026 prospect, and If he keeps this up, there’s no reason why he can’t be a Divison 1 recruit. If you’re a college coach visiting the Grand Rapids area at any time, I highly encourage you to reach out to Don Fellows and visit Union.
