Continue ReadingAfter the conclusion of the DSP Elite Invitational in Owensboro, KY. a few months back, it’s time to continue to evaluate some of the top performers from the 7v7 tournament showcase. After breaking down impressive quarterbacks and rising wide receiver prospects, it’s time to shift our focus to outstanding athlete prospects that made a difference on the field. Without further ado, here’s my list of the top athlete performers from the DSP Elite Invitational 7v7 showcase that are worth keeping an eye on entering this upcoming season of high school football.
Highlights
At the top of the list of top performers is Israel Carter-Swanagan Israel Carter-Swanagan 5'9" | 125 lbs | DB Owensboro | 2025 KY , a 5-foot-10, 125-pound defensive back out of Owensboro High School. The rising junior out of Owensboro, KY. was a huge gamechanger on the field for DSP Elite as an athlete, contributing efficiency and explosiveness on both sides of the ball. Swanagan impressed me with his durability and versatility as he made an impact in several different areas of the field, contributing the most in the endzone. Swanagan showcased his ability to haul in touchdown passes despite heavy defensive coverage. On the other side of the ball, Swanagan displayed excellent physicality and toughness, keeping the ball out of the other team’s hands.
Claiming the number two spot on this list of top performers is Amari Hope Amari Hope 5'7" | 145 lbs | WR Bosse | 2024 State IN , a 5-foot-8, 145-pound wide receiver out of Evansville Bosse High School. The rising senior out of Evansville, IN. made a significant impact for DSP Elite as an athlete during the tournament, showing off his impressive speed and physicality on both sides of the ball. Hope initially caught my attention when he bolted past the defense and came down with an impressive touchdown pass. Hope played a huge role in advancing the offense’s field position, making a difference as a receiver at several points during the tournament. On the other side, Hope exhibited excellent physicality, allowing for him to be disruptive defensively.
Coming in at number three on my list of top performers is Dereon Crowe Dereon Crowe 6'1" | 190 lbs | LB Owensboro | 2025 State KY , a 6-foot-1, 190-pound inside and outside linebacker out of Owensboro High School. The rising junior out of Owensboro, KY. was one of the more noticable players on the field during the tournament as he made an impact both offensively and defensively for DSP Elite as an athlete. In addition to his size and speed, Crowe impressed me with his physicality and toughness, showcasing his excellent durability and ability to withstand defensive pressure. With the ball in his hands, Crowe had no issue muscling past the opposition into the endzone. On the other side, Crowe was incredibly disruptive, utilizing his size and physicality to keep the other team off the board.

Finishing at number four on this list of notable performers is Darionte Ragsdale, a 6-foot-0, 185-pound athlete out of Paducah Tilghman High School. The rising senior out of Paducah, KY. was a major playmaker on both sides of the ball during the tournament, contributing consistency and explosiveness as an athlete for Indy Select South. Ragsdale impressed me with his size, speed and versatility as he could blast past defenders on the ground while using his size and wing span to haul in touchdown passes. On the other side, Ragsdale played excellent defensive coverage, keeping the ball out of the hands of opposing receivers.

At the number five spot on this list of top performers is Kemonte Braxton Kemonte Braxton 5'9" | 150 lbs | ATH Sayre | 2025 State KY , a 5-foot-9, 140-pound defensive back out of East Jessamine High School. The rising junior out of Nicholasville, KY. was an efficient and reliable weapon on both the offensive and defensive sides of the ball as an athlete for P2P Black over the course of the tournament. In addition to impressive size and speed, Braxton played with solid toughness and durability, evading defenders with his quickness and ability to shake defensive pressure. On the other side, Braxton was a threat in coverage, providing physical defense in the endzone, which made a huge difference for his team.
