This second group follows closely behind the prospects featured in Part I, with the first two players highlighted rounding off the Top 25, and the other three ranging from No. 27 overall to No. 34 in the class. They’re a group of talented skill position players heading into the summer with some momentum. Meet the second highest-ranked group of newcomers from the April update.
Folks have already been introduced to a few top prospects from Wichita Northwest’s upcoming sophomore class. But, there’s a third player from their 2026 class that also needs acknowledgement. A’maree Bohannon A’maree Bohannon 5’11” | 170 lbs | DB Wichita East | 2026 State KS joined his twin brother Aaron in this update, as he entered the rankings at No. 24 overall, and is the 3rd ranked defensive back in the class. The 5-foot-11 prospect put together a strong 7-On-7 season with Wichita Wheat, and was most recently a standout performer at the first KC Varsity Combines of 2023. Bohannon is currently listed as a defensive back, but it will be interesting to see how the Grizzlies use him this fall.
Eli Ribaudo Eli Ribaudo 6’2″ | 180 lbs | QB Maize | 2026 State KS rounded off the Top 25 in this update, and he became the 4th ranked quarterback in a class loaded with talented young arms. Ribaudo first landed on our radar at the Capital City Showdown in March, and continued to shine throughout the 7-On-7 season. He’s a signal caller that displays nice poise in the pocket, and can deliver accurate balls while under pressure. It’s not very often a program has two highly-ranked quarterbacks in the same class, but the Maize Eagles are fortunate enough to have Jaylen Mason Jaylen Mason 6’3″ | 195 lbs | QB Wichita NW | 2026 State KS and Ribaudo on their roster. The Eagles’ quarterback room will be a fun group to watch during the ’23 campaign.
The signal caller with the second highest debut in the recent update was Conrad Gomez Conrad Gomez 5’11” | 170 lbs | QB Junction City | 2026 State KS of Junction City. Gomez nearly cracked the Top 25, as he checked in a few spots behind Ribaudo at No. 27 overall, and he’s the 5th ranked quarterback in the class. Normally quarterbacks at the freshman level don’t throw a ton, but that wasn’t the case for Gomez. The Bluejays’ coaching staff maximized his quick decision making and mobility throughout the ’22 campaign. Gomez could be in line to compete for Junction City’s starting job this season, but he’ll likely need to add a bit more size before then. Still yet, he’d be a solid candidate for the job.
Shawnee Heights is another program with a few top prospects in this upcoming sophomore class. We’ve seen Aiden Scott Aiden Scott 6’4″ | 190 lbs | QB Shawnee Heights | 2026 State KS and Tyren Parker Tyren Parker 6’2″ | 180 lbs | WR Shawnee Heights | 2026 State KS receive praise a few times this off-season, and now it’s time for David Wakes David Wakes 5’10” | 180 lbs | ATH Shawnee Heights | 2026 State KS to receive some recognition. Wakes joined his fellow Thunderbird teammates in this update as the 29th ranked prospect overall, and the 5th ranked athlete in the class. He’s a prospect that impressed on both sides of the ball this past 7-On-7 season. At 5-foot-10, 180 pounds, Wakes has an ideal frame for multiple positions. Running back seems to be the best fit for him, which would give him the opportunity to learn from Allen Baughman Allen Baughman 5’8″ | 185 lbs | RB Shawnee Heights | 2024 KS this season
Conrad Gomez Conrad Gomez 5’11” | 170 lbs | QB Junction City | 2026 State KS wasn’t the only Junction City product to crack the rankings in the recent update. Jamarcus Tyson Jamarcus Tyson 6’1″ | 190 lbs | ATH Junction City | 2026 State KS came in behind David Wakes David Wakes 5’10” | 180 lbs | ATH Shawnee Heights | 2026 State KS as the 6th ranked athlete in the class, and the 34th ranked prospect overall. Junction City has a knack for developing versatile players, and Tyson is one that’s shown a lot of promise since last fall. Based off his film, Tyson has the potential to become a standout two-way player for Junction City. Whether he lines up as an H-Back, or as an inside linebacker, Tyson is sure to make plays. The multi-sport athlete has a ton of upside, and he’s likely not done growing either.
