Carson Westbrook Carson Westbrook 5'11" | 170 lbs | DB Schley County | 2024 State GA – 2024 – Schley County
Westbrook might not be the kind of prospect that really jumps out at coaches on first look. However, the more you watch him, the more you will realize that he is a true game-changer that produced at a high level on both sides of the ball last season for a very good team. His film is littered with momentum-altering plays. Interceptions, forced fumbles, onside kick recoveries, you name it. He is a feisty and energetic playmaker that works through the whistle and flies all around the field. At safety, he has a knack for flying to the football and has sneaky burst which allows him to jump routes and close the gap between himself and the ball. Westbrook is the kind of prospect that every program needs and could be a steal at the next level.
Jalan Butts – 2024 – John Milledge Academy
Butts was one of the most productive DBs in the state last season. Despite being a 3-time state champion, he is very much under the radar and could very well be a huge hidden gem in the Peach state. Butts has a nose for the football and is a very disciplined defender. Has good burst and breaks on the ball quickly. Once he is in the open field with the ball, he shows decent vision and can make defenders miss. Tracks the ball well and can readjust his body to the ball path. Butts is also a difference-maker at receiver and is generally a good playmaker that could shine at the next level.
Keshun Johnson – 2024 – Carrollton
Very underrated contributor for a powerhouse Carrollton squad that made a run to the state championship game. Johnson is a well-rounded safety prospect that does an excellent job of tracking the football and scoots around the field with ease. Johnson has excellent body control, transitioning smoothly from his backpedal to a full-on sprint. He is a good tackler that has a nose for the football and takes good angles on the ball carrier. To go along with his defense, Johnson is also a dangerous return man that can make plays with the ball in his hand. In my opinion, Johnson is a major sleeper prospect. I have an FBS grade on him.
Evan Wayland – 2025 – Creekview
Super athletic defender that has been creeping onto the radar for a few years now. As a junior, he is expected to step up and play an even bigger role for a stout Creekview defense. Has good cover skills and shows the ability to turn and run with most receivers. He has a stockier, muscular frame and packs a punch at contact. He has good burst and explosion which allows him to break on the ball and close space in a hurry. Creating separation against Wayland is no easy task, and he still has his best football ahead of him.
Colter Vela – 2025 – North Forsyth
High-energy and strong safety prospect that plays with a high motor and flies around the field. Has a strong, muscular build which allows him to play as a traditional strong safety. Vela is an instinctual player that is always in the right spot and ready to make a play. He looks comfortable and natural as a tackler and has good enough lateral movement to keep the play in front of him. Vela isn’t one of those prospects that will generally draw a whole lot of attention at first look. However, the more you watch him, you will become enamored with his instincts and his ability to fly to the football.
