Prep Redzone Louisiana has already started making some rounds, but won’t be able to catch everyone.
We’ll start over the next few days by pointing out and highlighting five players from each area we’d like to see — with priority given to rising upperclassmen and for prospects we’d be seeing for the first time, the first time in an extended stretch or the first time since some notable development.
And a series will follow highlighting six or more student-athletes from each school visited with a mix of returning veterans, breakout candidates and underclassmen to know for years to come.
The Shreveport area was among those that easily could’ve warranted a top 10 or 20. But, in sticking with the running format, here are a leading handful.
DeMarkus Evans DeMarkus Evans 5'8" | 150 lbs | DB Evangel Christian | 2026 State LA — 5-8, 150 DB/ATH — Parkway (2026)
Young Parkway standout Antonio Gladney Antonio Gladney 5'10" | 175 lbs | ATH Parkway | 2026 State LA opened Prep Redzone Louisiana’s rankings for his class in the top 10, and multiple coaches in northwest Louisiana have emphasized to keep an eye on partner-in-crime Evans — another speedy and versatile athlete — as the Panthers’ next 2026 prospect to keep an eye on. Prep Redzone Louisiana saw him a bit during spring 7-on-7, but his size and how he plays with contact will go a long way in continued evaluation.
Devin Harper Devin Harper 6'5" | 295 lbs | OL Calvary Baptist | 2025 State LA — 6-5, 295 OL — Captain Shreve (2025)
Harper has become one of the hottest names on the recruiting trail with another impressive string of big-time offers — including Georgia, Alabama, TCU, Texas, Penn State and Missouri — since colleges have been able to get out to campuses. Either he or rising senior teammate Jeremy Duncan Jeremy Duncan 6'6" | 260 lbs | OL Captain Shreve | 2024 State LA could have represented the Gators’ offensive line on this list, with the latter himself a tall, long Division-I prospect and entering his final spring, summer and season of high school. But Harper has rapidly become one of the headline prospect of the entire state regardless of classification,.
Lavorziesa Houston Lavorziesa Houston 6'2" | 190 lbs | LB Calvary Baptist | 2024 State LA — 6-3, 190 — Calvary Baptist (2024)
Tre’ was one of the first handful of members of the Cavaliers’ talented 2024 class on Prep Redzone Louisiana’s radar during a Shreveport trip in early 2021, but the last chance to see him in person has been a couple years — as opposed to some of his classmates who have had big showings on the spring and summer 7-on-7 circuits. Houston was an intriguing prospect early on with his size, mobility and versatility, but is still awaiting some traction on the recruiting trail.
Robert Patterson Robert Patterson 6'1" | 170 lbs | TE Airline | 2024 State LA — 6-1, 170 TE — Airline (2024)
Prep Redzone Louisiana had a chance to see Patterson in person early in 2021, but the Vikings’ standout has worked hard not just in his football drills, but in weight-lifting and track work to make himself as effective and potentially versatile as possible as a bit of a tweener receiving threat. The first few offers have started to roll in, and getting a fresh look at his continued development would be ideal heading into the next rankings update this summer.
Tristan Santoro Tristan Santoro 6'6" | 270 lbs | OL Evangel Christian | 2024 State LA — 6-6, 270 OL — Evangel Christian (2024)
The big, athletic Eagles lineman wouldn’t really qualify as a “best-kept secret” at this point with Baylor, Tulane, Louisiana Tech, Louisiana (Lafayette), Memphis and Texas Southern offers. But for a prospect who looks on his available film — and sounds talking to some coaches — to be in the mix among the state’s top offensive linemen for the class, Santoro does still feel somewhat under the radar entering his final high school offseason.
