After talking with some coaches and monitoring the recruiting scene in Georgia, here are a few prospects that are creeping their way up some recruiting boards.
Dominic Steward – OT – 2024 – Westlake
Raw OT prospect that possesses some unmatched athleticism and has a very high upside. Steward checks off plenty of the boxes that FBS coaches are looking for in their tackles. He has good length at 6’5 260 and is very light on his feet. He gets into his pass set quickly and does a great job of readjusting his feet at contact to maintain leverage on the defender. When he is in the open field as a blocker, you can tell he is a natural athlete that is seeking contact and shows good balance and body control. Steward is still growing and become a more physical prospect. If he can add that needed strength, he has clear P5 upside and could develop into an absolute steal.
Gideon Herbert – DE/EDGE – 2024 – Rabun Gap
With a flurry of FBS offers headed his way this spring, Herbert has emerged as a prospect to watch. There is certainly P5 interest, and it is a matter of time before one of those programs offers. Herbert has good size for an edge rusher at 6’3 225. He is very explosive off the snap and has a nose for the football. There is little to no wasted movement in his approach, he just simply puts his foot in the dirt and flies to the ball. He has good bend off the edge and is too explosive for most offensive tackles to get leverage on. In the run game, Herbert is disciplined and rangey, showing the ability to run from sideline to sideline in order to chase down ball carriers and keep the play in front of him. Herbert is firmly on my radar, and he should be on yours as well.
Kenyon Rivera – ATH – 2025 – Buford
In the past few weeks, Rivera has gone from an undervalued prospect to one of the hottest recruits in the state of Georgia. While we are still waiting to see what he is truly capable of at the varsity level, it is clear that P5 programs across the country are banking on his potentially elite upside, and why wouldn’t they? Rivera is a freak athlete that moves exceptionally well. He is absolutely an elite athlete that could become a very dangerous on the gridiron once he ties it together.
Christian Garrett – DL – 2025 – Prince Avenue Christian
It was only a matter of time before Garrett broke onto the scene as a national recruit. After a week where he saw offers come his way from UGA, Florida, and others, we can officially remove the “underrated” title from his name. Garrett is a physical prospect with a nose for the football. His lateral movement and ability to sneak up on speedy skill players take his game to another level. With his length, he can clog up running lanes and keep space between him and the blocker. Garrett is a well-rounded DL prospect that still has plenty of upside. Expect his stock to continue to rise and push blue-chip status.
Nalin Scott Nalin Scott 6'2" | 180 lbs | ATH Kennesaw Mountain | 2026 State GA – WR – 2026 – Kennesaw Mountain
Scott is a prospect that has been well covered here at Prep Redzone for the past year. I thought that with a big fall, he could start to add some offers to his name. It turns out, all it took was for some coaches to get a look at him in person. Scott has received a flurry of offers recently, with notable offers rolling in from Georgia and LSU. Scott offers a matchup issue all over the field for defenses. At 6’3 200, he can use his size on the outside to shield off defenders from making a play on the football. He is also dangerous after the catch and can line up in the backfield or in the slot to attack space. Scott also happens to be a good athlete that can create separation and leap to highpoint the ball over defenders. Because of his size and versatility, Scott is a big-time prospect that still has a few years of development left in front of him.
