Continue ReadingWinston has been on fire during the month of May. Just this month he’s landed some huge offers from schools such as Miami, Notre Dame, Penn State, and Ohio State. Winston has been putting his top end speed on display this offseason on the track. He’s clocked times in the 60-meter at 6.90s and in the 100-meter at 10.70s. He has great size and speed, definitely has the measurables for a D1 DB and programs are loving it.
Leftwich has been on our radar for a while now and he finally is getting the recognition he deserves. Jeff just landed his first D1 offer from Southern University in the SWAC conference. If Leftwich can be a main target for Roosevelt expect him to end the season with a handful of offers. I’m excited to see how his season pans out, keep an eye on him.
Barnes is a prospect on the rise with a great frame for a linebacker prospect, at 6’0 220lbs. Barnes is the physical enforcer in the middle of the fast Miller defense. So far, he’s had interest from Holy Cross and took his junior day visit back in March. He closes ft in pursuit and brings power when he makes contact on the ball carrier, he forces fumbles, can get you an INT in pass coverage and is athletic enough to advance the ball up field after a turnover. Look for Barnes to step in as one of the leaders on this strong defense.
Ethan Brown
Ethan Brown
The 6’3 265lb sophomore landed his first offer from Biff Poggi and UNC-Charolette. He has a high motor and happy feet. Once in pursuit he’s at 100mph until he reaches the ball carrier. He initiates contact and keeps his feet buzzing to maneuver through traffic and off of blocks. Brown played some Edge and D-tackle for the eagles and had some success at both. Keep an eye on him this season and see where he accels the most.
Woodby is on his way to solidifying himself as one of the top overall DB’s in the nation. He clocked a 4.39s 40-yard dash, 4.05s shuttle and 35-inch vert. He has plenty of time to improve his craft and with the track record he has he will continue to improve. Blake will be a top 5 prospect in the state with a good season, he’s turning heads on a national level now, not just amongst the SFA team.
