With that in mind, it is time to start previewing what lies ahead in the upcoming season. While there is a lot of talent spread throughout the state of Missouri, an area that I believe gets overlooked at times from a football standpoint is St. Charles County. This area isn’t in the headlines as much as schools in cities like St. Louis or Kansas City but there is still a ton of talent to be seen. With that being said, I will kick off my “St. Charles County Players to Watch” series with some quarterbacks to keep an eye on heading into the 2023 season.
Jordan Rowe Jordan Rowe 6’2″ | 180 lbs | QB St. Charles | 2025 State MO is an incoming junior quarterback that has recently caught my attention. Unfortunately, Jordan was only able to play in three games as a sophomore due to injury but was very productive when on the field. In those three games, Rowe completed 32/47 passes for 653 yards, six touchdowns, and only one interception. Rowe throws a very impressive deep ball, showing the ability to lead his receivers down the field and hit them in stride. He has also shown the arm strength to zip passes into tight windows in the short and intermediate passing game. Jordan also has shown the ability to escape pressure and keep his eyes down the field to make throws on the run. Speaking of running, Rowe is also very dangerous as a ball carrier, finishing this past season with 17 carries for 202 yards and two touchdowns. While Rowe doesn’t currently hold any offers, he will definitely be a player to watch that could turn into a highly sought after prospect over the next couple years.
Mike Gerdine III
Mike Gerdine III
Another incoming junior quarterback from St. Charles County to keep an eye on is Mike Gerdine III from Lutheran-St.Charles. Gerdine may not have the size of your typical elite quarterback prospect but he makes up for that with his pure talent. He is coming off a solid sophomore season in which he completed 92/178 passes for 1,650 yards, 18 touchdowns, and only three interceptions. The first thing that stands out when watching him is that he has an absolute cannon for an arm. He uses this to lead his receivers down the field and hit them in stride on their way to the end zone. Gerdine also has a great feel for pressure, showing the ability to escape the pocket and make throws on the run. When the pressure does get to him, he has shown the toughness to stand in the pocket and complete passes while taking a hit. He is also very electric in the open field when he decides to tuck the ball and run. Gerdine finished this past season with 44 carries for 178 yards and two touchdowns. Mike doesn’t currently hold any offers but definitely deserves some attention from college coaches going into his junior year.
Adam Shipley Adam Shipley 5’10” | 170 lbs | QB Francis Howell | 2024 State MO is an incoming senior quarterback that is coming off an impressive junior season. This past season, he completed 112/178 passes for 1,945 yards, 26 touchdowns, and eight interceptions. One big thing that stood out to me when watching Shipley’s film is his feel for pressure. He has shown the ability to maneuver inside and escape the pocket to avoid pressure while keeping his eyes down the field to find the open receiver. When he escapes the pocket, Shipley has shown an impressive ability to make throws on the run. He has also shown impressive accuracy, showing the ability to fit passes into tight coverage and put the ball where only his receiver has a chance to catch it. Adam is committed to play baseball at Saint Louis University but definitely has the talent to play quarterback at the next level if he were to have a change of heart.
Carter Cox
Carter Cox
Carter Cox is another intriguing quarterback from the 2024 class in St. Charles County to keep an eye on this season. Cox had a solid junior year, completing 102/195 passes for 1,124 yards, nine touchdowns and eight interceptions. Carter is a lefty quarterback with a very strong arm, showing the ability to stretch the field and lead his receivers away from opposing defensive backs. He is also able to use that arm strength to zip passes into tight coverage in the short and intermediate passing game. Cox also does a great job of putting touch on his passes, putting the ball where only his intended receiver has a chance to catch it. He also ran the ball 100 times for 268 yards and five touchdowns this past season. Carter doesn’t currently hold any offers and also is an impressive baseball player so it remains to be seen what his athletic career holds after high school but he definitely has the talent to play quarterback somewhere at the next level if he chooses to pursue that path.
Cody McMullen Cody McMullen 5’11” | 150 lbs | QB Liberty (Wentzville) | 2025 State MO is another quarterback from the 2025 class in St. Charles County to keep an eye on. This past season, McMullen completed 82/149 passes for 953 yards, five touchdowns, and seven interceptions. He has a strong arm, showing the ability to stretch the field in the deep passing game and fit passes into tight coverage in the short/intermediate passing game. McMullen also has impressive pocket mobility, showing the ability to move around in the pocket to avoid pressure while keeping his eyes down the field to find an open receiver. He has also shown the ability to escape the pocket when under pressure and make throws on the run. Cody doesn’t currently hold any offers but is a player to keep an eye on over the next two seasons.

To wrap up this list, I have incoming sophomore quarterback Collin Sinclair Collin Sinclair 6’1″ | 185 lbs | QB Orchard Farm | 2026 State MO from Orchard Farm. Sinclair had a solid freshman year, completing 100/175 passes for 1,222 yards, seven touchdowns, and seven interceptions. He is a lefty quarterback that has impressive accuracy. Sinclair has shown the ability to fit passes into tight coverage and place the ball where only his receiver can get to it. He also does a great job of avoiding pressure, showing the ability to escape the pocket and make throws on the run. Sinclair also has shown the ability to tuck the ball and make plays as a ball carrier, finishing this past season with 113 carries for 589 yards and eight touchdowns. Collin doesn’t have any offers yet but he will be a player to keep an eye on over the next few seasons as he continues to develop.
