We have a little over four months left before we see some regular season action. This year is going to be exciting to see. The 2024 and 2025 class in Mississippi has seen multiple guys raise their stock. Now it is time to see if it is all hype. Here are some of my predictions.

7A: Starkville

This team didn't lose many seniors last season. Most of their impact players were underclassmen. [player_tooltip player_id='273258' first='Trey' last='Petty'] is getting better everyday. [player_tooltip player_id='139597' first='Braylon' last='Burnside'] is keeping his speed up to par during track season. However, they now have [player_tooltip player_id='346421' first='Jay' last='Stevenson'] who recently transferred from Heritage Academy. That means that their running game is going to be more deadly. They have [player_tooltip player_id='617336' first='Jermar' last='McCarter'] coming back to lead their defense. This team is going to be the truth again.

6A: Picayune

I honestly think Picayune is going to have a three peat. They are not losing many players to graduation this year. Picayune also has the four-star [player_tooltip player_id='344053' first='Chris' last='Davis'] coming back. They will also have five-star [player_tooltip player_id='344138' first='Jamonta' last='Waller'] back on the scene. Can't forget about three-star [player_tooltip player_id='648935' first='Darrell' last='Smith']. This team is truly loaded. [player_tooltip player_id='379149' first='Amarion' last='Tyson'] will be back to do his best to be the number one tackler again. They also have Nacquis Ratcliff that will be back on defense doing his thing. The train just keeps on rolling in Picayune.

5A: West Point

West Point has been to the state title seven years in a row. This year is probably going to make their eighth consecutive trip. [player_tooltip player_id='344052' first='Kahnen' last='Daniels'], a Florida Gator commit, is ready to lead their offense. Guys like Zayvian Lowery and [player_tooltip player_id='652987' first='Bryson' last='Wells'] are going to be the leaders of that front seven. [player_tooltip player_id='503391' first='Coledan' last='Carter'] will be backing making big hits in their secondary

4A: Louisville

The eleven time state champs look to win another ring in 2023. Xavier Hunt, Jykevious Goss, [player_tooltip player_id='402110' first='Xzarion' last='Haynes'], Kam Triplett and a lot more will be returning this season. Their whole offensive line is coming back. Their OL is full of freshman and sophomores. Tayquonn McKinney is going to be back on defense. They also have Semaj Knowles and Kenneth Hill back in the secondary.

3A: Noxubee Co

Noxubee County is a program that is going to produce every year. [player_tooltip player_id='648939' first='Kamario' last='Taylor'] and [player_tooltip player_id='123210' first='Dequadrion' last='Welch'] will be back next season. That is going to be a major force on their offense. Taylor and Welch are some studs who know how to handle business on the football field. This team was the state runner ups for 3A last year. They have some changes on defense, but things will be ok in Noxubee Co.

2A: Charleston

Charleston had a good year during the 2022 season. They were also state runner ups. They are returning [player_tooltip player_id='618929' first='Deondre' last='Riley'] along with some more studs. This is going to be a big year for him. I expect him to be a guy that helps them to get over the hump.

1A: Biggersville

I think the Lions have what it take to win it all this year. These guys are loaded this season. They have Jayce Taylor who is a freshman that is a big boy. A 6-1 215-pound guy with a lot of skills. Biggersville is a community loaded with talent. Their chances of being champions will always be high.
