An in-depth breakdown of five very elite 2025 quarterbacks from around the state of Virginia.

2025 5'11 180 QB - [player_tooltip player_id='185396' first='Taegan' last='Logan'] - Trinity Episcopal

2x State Champion, First Team All-Prep League QB, and First Team All-State QB, [player_tooltip player_id='185396' first='Taegan' last='Logan'], has massive potential, and he's drawing a lot of interest from ACC schools such as UVA and Wake Forest. Logan and the Trinity Titans achieved the coveted undefeated season last year, going 11-0, and the young quarterback put up huge numbers along the way. He threw for nearly 2,200 yards, 31 touchdowns, and he added an additional 2 touchdowns running the ball. With the way the game is going today, Logan's dual-threat ability is the most exciting part about his game, and I believe that his skillset will make the college transition that much more seamless for him. During the 2023 season, [player_tooltip player_id='185396' first='Taegan' last='Logan'] and the Trinity Titans will be hunting for the three-peat, and I wouldn't be surprised if they extend their 11-0 VPL winning streak deep into the season.

2025 6'3 200 QB - [player_tooltip player_id='303045' first='Jack' last='Callaghan'] - Collegiate

[player_tooltip player_id='303045' first='Jack' last='Callaghan'] is truly the complete package as an athlete and as a quarterback. He threw for about 2,000 yards and 16 touchdowns last Fall, and, in light of his tremendous season, he has a lot of interest from local DMV schools such as Maryland and ODU. Callaghan also visited Wake Forest recently, so his hard work is clearly paying off. He's a tremendously hard worker during the offseason, and, in a recent video, his footwork looked collegiate level ready. [player_tooltip player_id='303045' first='Jack' last='Callaghan'] also thrives on the baseball diamond during the offseason for Collegiate, and he recently hit a home run which shows just how well-rounded he is as an athlete. On the trajectory that he's on now, I wouldn't be surprised at all to see Callaghan throws for 30 touchdowns in 2023. He's a standout quarterback in the state of Virginia.

2025 6'1 190 QB - [player_tooltip player_id='358207' first='Linwood' last='Johnson'] - Varina

[player_tooltip player_id='358207' first='Linwood' last='Johnson'] is an extremely dynamic dual-threat quarterback out of Varina High School, and he competes for the Marathon 7v7 team during the offseason. Johnson has a phenomenal arm, and he averaged about 75 passing yards per game with a .727% completion percentage to end the 2022 season. He already has a lot of interest from UMD, and there's no doubt in my mind that more local offers will continue to roll in consistently for him. In the offseason, [player_tooltip player_id='358207' first='Linwood' last='Johnson'] is a state champion basketball player, which shows his all-around greatness, and I truly believe that his physical style of quarterback pay will translate very well at the next level. It's essential that D1 scouts know the name [player_tooltip player_id='358207' first='Linwood' last='Johnson'].

2025 6'2 200 QB - [player_tooltip player_id='358209' first='Brady' last='Carmical'] - Briar Woods

[player_tooltip player_id='358209' first='Brady' last='Carmical'] absolutely established himself as the unanimous QB1 starter at Briar Woods in the Fall, and he did so by dominating every single game. With 160 yards per game and 17 total touchdowns, he completely lit up the stat sheet for the Falcons. His athleticism is very evident whenever he has the ball in his hands, and it's also very evident on the lacrosse field right now where he thrives during the offseason. Carmical is the kind of special athlete that has the rare potential of playing multiple sports in college, and it wouldn't shock me at all to see him achieve it. [player_tooltip player_id='358209' first='Brady' last='Carmical'] is one of the elite quarterbacks in the state and it's essential that local scouts make it out to Ashburn to watch him play.

2025 6'2 175 QB - [player_tooltip player_id='294500' first='Jason' last='“Scooter” Williams'] - Salem

The All-Beach District Honorable Mention QB, [player_tooltip player_id='294500' first='Jason' last='“Scooter” Williams'], put forth his best season yet in 2022, and he was invited to the Next Level Junior Classic showcase training program this offseason as a result. The dual-threat quarterback displayed a lot of grit and toughness running the football last season, and I believe he can lead this Salem Sundevils team to a Beach Region title in 2023. Williams has drawn recent interest from schools such as Appalachian State and Virginia. There's no reason that [player_tooltip player_id='294500' first='Jason' last='“Scooter” Williams'] should not be named at least a 3 star recruit during this offseason. He's extremely worthy of that ranking and beyond, in my opinion.
