As a small school athlete in the Northwest, it can be easy to go under the radar and not get the necessary recognition. Referenced below we look at a few of the state's top 2024 and 25's who are currently ranked by PRZ. You will see that ranking denoted as well next to each individual's name.

[player_tooltip player_id='487167' first='Aiden' last='Brown'] 5-9 175 ATH 25' Kalama #52

Potentially the exception to the rule from a size standpoint. Brown has some freakish athletic ability, going for 2,333 total yards and 23 TDs (15 rushing, 8 passing) as a sophomore. He backed up the hype with his performance on the 7v7 circuit this off season as part of EForce. Definitely one of the most dangerous athletes in the state when in space.

[player_tooltip player_id='643367' first='Jeremiah' last='Wright'] 6-6 220 OLB/QB Lynden Christian #66

You have to like the 6-6 frame and ability to come off the edge. Offensively he totaled 1,884 yards and 26 TDs in 9 games at QB. Look for him to project on D where his combination of size and overall athleticism speaks for itself. On the year he made 26 total tackles, with 4 sacks, and 3 tackles for loss.

[player_tooltip player_id='206275' first='Jackson' last='Almond'] 6-1 190 24' WR Cascade Christian #49

Almond comes back the highest ranked small school athlete in the state for his class by PRZ at #49. He went off as a junior accounting for 1560 yards and 12 TDs, while also excelling defensively and making 71 total tackles and 4 INTs. He should be in the POY conversation next year while helping the Cougars improve on their 7-4 record.

[player_tooltip player_id='206272' first='Byson' last='Vasquez'] 5-11 185 24' LB Cascade Christian #78

One of the more impressive kids in the state defensively regardless of classification. Over the last two seasons Vasquez totaled 280 total tackles, with 23 tackles for loss, and 16 sacks. Unreal numbers at any level. Watch the film and you see an athlete consistently in the right place.

[player_tooltip player_id='338817' first='Danny' last='McDonnell'] 6-2 230 24' DE Ridgefield #120

The 2x 1st team all GSHL lineman backed up the hype after an impressive sophomore year with 54 tackles, 8 tackles for loss, and 3 sacks. He's somewhat undersized for the position but still ranked the #12 overall d lineman in Washington.

[player_tooltip player_id='348189' first='Simetti' last='Jennings'] 6-4 310 25' OL Life Christian #41

Jennings is an appealing recruit with his size and should do well on the camp circuit. That said as he is playing 1A ball for a team that went winless, so it will be crucial for universities to see him against legit competition.

TraMayne Jenkins 5-11 180 25' WR/ATH R.A Long #103

Another kid who had a breakout sophomore year, going for 514 yards and 9 TDs. Jenkins was acknowledged during the season on the PRZ player of the week lists for a team that went 0-9. Making the accolades all the more impressive.

[player_tooltip player_id='693769' first='Jaxsen' last='Beck'] 5-11 200 25' Black Hills #96

Beck didn't put up crazy stats and doesn't have prototypical size, but he has an outstanding arm which was on display throughout the season, helping the Wolves go 6-4. With his leadership the 2A school has a shot moving forward.
