Amir Purdy Amir Purdy 5’9″ | 150 lbs | ATH Fort Zumwalt South | 2024 State MO is a versatile playmaker for Fort Zumwalt South. I am surprised the two-way starter has not received more regional attention. Amir’s value as a strong safety or nickelback prospect should have him on coaches’ radar soon enough.
Speed and acceleration show undercutting balls from a deep zone and deep hash alignment. Amir’s power shows flattening wide receivers coming across the middle. Good athleticism and change of direction shows as a punt returner; Look for Amir’s good combination of power and athleticism to add value as a versatile safety at the next level.
Mikey Davis II
Mikey Davis II
Mikey Davis is a talented prospect who has been on junior day visits to Washburn and the University of Central Missouri. He also has been invited to junior days at Southern Illinois and Olivet Nazarene. Watch out for more regional schools to be in contact with Mikey as the year progresses.
Mikey’s instincts show tracking the ball and in the awareness he displays attacking wide receivers over the middle in zone coverage. Mikey’s solid tackling ability and athleticism shows making tackles in the open field. Good ball skills, quickness, and athletic ability shows adjusting outside of his frame and reacting to tipped balls in order to complete interceptions.
Gage King
Gage King
Gage King is a shutdown corner for Winfield High School. Gage has visited Lindenwood and Kansas State. Watch for the good-sized cornerback prospect’s recruitment to heat up.
Quick feet and good mirroring ability shows reacting at the top of routes in off man coverage. Gage’s instincts show in good patience in man and quick recognition of screen passes in deep zone coverage. Gage’s ball skills, length, and fluid change of direction highlight his cornerback projection at the next level.
Javen Johnson
Javen Johnson
Javen Johnson is one of a few prospects on the Raymore-Peculiar football team. Javen has visited Drake, Washburn, Central Missouri, Pittsburg State, and Kansas State. With camp invites to at least two other schools, look for Javen to receive his first offer before the summer is over.
Javen’s good instincts and acceleration shows undercutting intermediate routes for interceptions from a free safety alignment. Power and closing speed show punishing bubble screen recipients as a flat defender. Javen is a versatile defensive back who could fit in at either nickelback or strong safety at the next level.
Joshua Pacheco
Joshua Pacheco
Joshua Pacheco has been on a junior day visit to Arkansas. He also has a camp invite to North Dakota State University according to his Twitter account. Watch for the good-sized safety’s regional recruitment to pick up quickly as summer approaches.
Josh shows good athleticism and ball skills smoothly changing direction before tracking seam shots off the hashmark for interceptions. Power shows as a tackler while strength and toughness get displayed delivering contact as a ball carrier. Josh’s speed shows getting behind defensive backs in off coverage as a wide receiver. Instincts shown in the box and good tackling ability highlight versatility at the next level.
Jackson Torry Jackson Torry 5’10” | 185 lbs | DB Lee’s Summit West | 2024 State MO has visited Drake and the University of Central Missouri. He also went to a game day visit at Kansas last fall. Watch for the talented two-way player to receive his first offer sometime soon.
Jackson’s closing speed and instinctiveness in the run game shows making tackles for loss on jet sweeps from a deep free safety alignment. Jackson’s awareness consistently shows breaking in zone coverage, but next level power shows jarring balls loose when delivering contact at the catchpoint. Good burst shows disrupting swing routes from an inside zone responsibility. Jackson’s good ball judgement and physicality at the catchpoint highlight nickelback potential at the next level.
