Casillas lead the state in rushing and went for 1,900+ on the ground while averaging 238 YPG and 32 touchdowns through the course of the 2022 season. He is a twitchy runner that excels outside the tackles and in space while showing a nice first level burst and open field speed. Dominating all 2A competition he played against, he is a bit undersized but runs hard and shows good toughness while not afraid to gain the tough yards inside. He is a next level player at the D-III+ level and should draw some college interest through his final prep season and Morenci.
The Rising senior erupted in his Junior season rushing for 1,800+ yards and 21 TD’s McKinnon is a big and bruising runner that moves well for his size, shows good leg drive and power running abilities in traffic while flashing some sneaky speed around the edge with natural forward lean and looks for contact. The recent Desert Edge transfer has had a busy spring collecting offers from UNLV, Air Force and Montana with others not far behind as he is in line for a monster Senior season.
Savoie checks in inside the top 5 leading rushers in the state coming off a 1,800+ rushing yard season and 20+ TD’s. He is a well put together compact back with a strong lower body that can run through contact and catch the ball out of the backfield while quickly getting upfield. He shows that he can wait for his blocks to develop and navigate through traffic with strong contact balance and leg drive while seemingly always falling forward to gain the tough yards inside. Savoie is another very productive prep back that can make a impact at the next level.
Lee is one of the more highly regarded backs in the entire state and did not disappoint in 2022. He went for 1,500+ yards and just shy of 20 scores on the ground for Williams Field and proved why he has already collected a power five offer from Arizona State. He is a big and physical runner that shows he can wait for pullers/blocks in-between the tackles before bursting through while also able to cut against the flow in a zone scheme and reads the field well with cutback abilities in the open field. He is more of a North and South runner that shows good speed at the first two levels and will only continue to add to his open field gear. Look for more schools to take notice and offer the talented ’24 back.
