Recruiting News and Notes 4-9-23

Many colleges are putting on junior day activities this weekend and we are seeing plenty of visits taking place across the Natural State. The weekend is when we get caught up on all of the recruiting news going on throughout the course of the week.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>[player_tooltip player_id='304658' first='Dennis' last='Gaines']-Running Back-East Poinsett County-2024</strong></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>The East Poinsett County running back has opened plenty of eyes over the past two seasons. Last season, he led the state in rushing yards and is looking for an encore performance this season. He is a running back that gets better as the game progresses. Gaines does a great job of allowing the rushing lane to develop. Over the weekend, he earned a scholarship offer from Ouachita Baptist University. I expect Gaines to have a strong senior season this upcoming season.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>[player_tooltip player_id='149583' first='Jalan' last='Jointer']-Athlete-Maumelle-2024</strong></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>One of the most versatile prospects in the state of Arkansas will be playing this season for the Maumelle Hornets. Jointer does an excellent job allowing rushing lanes to develop. He has the speed and power mix needed to break tackles and get into the open field. Jointer has the potential to have a strong season in 2023. Jointer had the opportunity to visit the University of Central Arkansas over the weekend. He is a prospect to keep an eye on this season.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>[player_tooltip player_id='501976' first='Jonas' last='Nantze']-Offensive Line-Shiloh Christian-2024</strong></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Over the years, Shiloh Christian has talented linemen on both the offensive and defensive side of the ball. [player_tooltip player_id='501976' first='Jonas' last='Nantze'] is the next impressive prospect on that list to keep an eye on this upcoming season. Nantze has quick feet and has good power that keeps opposing defensive linemen off-balance. He does a great job of getting out front on swing passes and screens. Nantze is an impressive run blocker as well. The talented offensive lineman had the opportunity to visit Oklahoma State over the weekend. Keep an eye on Nantze this season, he has the ability to play on Saturdays in the future.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>Dylan Greer-Wide Receiver-West Memphis-2024</strong></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>The wide receiver position in the class of 2024 is well-stocked with talent in the state of Arkansas. West Memphis wide Dylan Greer is a receiver with the speed to cause plenty of headaches for the opposing secondary. Greer can put in work in the slot or be split out wide. He is a wide receiver that is on North Alabama's radar and the competition for his services is starting to heat up. Mills had the opportunity over the weekend to visit Central Arkansas. Keep an eye on Greer this upcoming season.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>[player_tooltip player_id='194427' first='Achillies' last='Ringo']-Quarterback-Little Rock Mills-2024</strong></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>A quarterback prospect to watch out for over the next few months is [player_tooltip player_id='194427' first='Achillies' last='Ringo']. Ringo throws an accurate football and he is not afraid to test opposing defenses with the deep ball. He is a prospect that does an impressive job of throwing the football while on the run. Ringo had the opportunity over the weekend to visit the UNLV campus. Barry Odom and his staff at UNLV continue to do an impressive job of recruiting the Natural State.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>[player_tooltip player_id='328727' first='Caleb' last='Turic']-Linebacker-Pottsville-2025</strong></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Pottsville always has a talented roster on both sides of the ball and this upcoming season is no exception. [player_tooltip player_id='328727' first='Caleb' last='Turic'] is a versatile player that has seen snaps in the secondary but will spend the 2023 season at the linebacker spot. He has impressive speed and reads the play well. Turic defeats blocks well and gets into the offensive backfield on a consistent basis. Turic is receiving recruiting interest from Lyon College, University of Texas-Permian Basin, Harding, and North Texas. The competition for Turic will be strong over the next two seasons.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>[player_tooltip player_id='339641' first='Keland' last='Mills']-Quarterback-West Memphis-2024</strong></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>The West Memphis signal caller is a prospect that had a tremendous 2022 football season. Mills does a great job fitting the football into some tight windows. He does a great job of keeping his eyes down the field in order to make the throw. Mills is not afraid to use his legs to pick up yardage on the ground. Mills had the opportunity over the weekend to pay a visit to Central Arkansas. He is a quarterback prospect to watch out for this upcoming season!</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph -->
