Recruiting News and Notes 4-22-23

It was a week where we had plenty of visits taking place as well as commitments. Over the weekend is when we get caught up on all the recruiting news making headlines across the state. This is the point in the year when recruiting headlines are making the news and it is a way to get our football fix.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>[player_tooltip player_id='153886' first='Charleston' last='Collins']-Defensive Line-Little Rock Mills-2024</strong></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>One of the most athletic prospects in the state of Arkansas is making recruiting headlines this week. Collins uses his speed and athletic ability well to terrorize the opposing offensive line. He is extremely versatile and can move all over the defensive line. Collins has good hands and the ability to take an errant pass the opposite direction. The Little Rock miss prospect placed his commitment with the Arkansas Razorbacks on Friday of this week. Congratulations go out to the talented defensive lineman!</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>[player_tooltip player_id='149570' first='Courtney' last='Crutchfield']-Wide Receiver-Pine Bluff-2024</strong></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>[player_tooltip player_id='149570' first='Courtney' last='Crutchfield'] is one of the most talented wide receivers in the class of 2024. He has tremendous versatility and can play either side of the ball with impressive effectiveness. Crutchfield has tremendous speed and can stretch the field vertically. He is a target in the red zone and does a great job of getting open for his quarterbacks. Crutchfield committed to the Arkansas Razorbacks on Friday and has the potential to have a strong season in 2023. Congratulations go out to the talented wide receiver from Pine Bluff!!</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>[player_tooltip player_id='352887' first='Derrick' last='Murdock']-Linebacker-Little Rock Mills-2024</strong></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>The Mills Comets are loaded on the defensive side of the ball this upcoming season. [player_tooltip player_id='352887' first='Derrick' last='Murdock'] had an excellent season in 2022 and is looking to open plenty of eyes again this upcoming season. Murdock defeats blocks well and does a terrific job of shutting down both the run and the pass. The talented Mills' linebacker had the opportunity to visit the Memphis Tigers on Friday. I expect another strong season from Murdock this season. He is a prospect to watch out for this season.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>[player_tooltip player_id='501976' first='Jonas' last='Nantze']-Offensive Line-Shiloh Christian-2024</strong></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>[player_tooltip player_id='501976' first='Jonas' last='Nantze'] is a versatile offensive lineman that opened plenty of eyes in 2022. He is extremely impressive at clearing rushing lanes for his running backs. Meanwhile, he does a great job of keeping his quarterbacks off of the ground. Nantze had the opportunity to visit the Stephen F. Austin campus over the weekend. He is a prospect that I expect a strong senior season from this upcoming season and is a player to watch out for.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>[player_tooltip player_id='636277' first='Oquoieah' last='Earl']-Wide Receiver-Beebe-2024</strong></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>[player_tooltip player_id='636277' first='Oquoieah' last='Earl'] is the definition of a playmaking wide receiver. The Beebe wide receiver has tremendous athleticism and does a great job of being able to high point the football. Earl is a scoring threat from anywhere on the field. He had the opportunity to visit the Memphis Tigers on Friday. Earl is another wide receiver that I expect to have a strong season this upcoming season. He has the potential to light up Friday nights this fall and see plenty of action on Saturdays in the future.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>[player_tooltip player_id='150134' first='Denham' last='Gooden'] Jr.-Wide Receiver-Lonoke-2024</strong></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>The wide receiver position has an impressive list of prospects for the position this season. [player_tooltip player_id='150134' first='Denham' last='Gooden'] Jr. has great speed and uses it well to create separation from opposing defensive backs. He mixes smooth route running with the ability to kick it into second gear. Gooden Jr. had the opportunity to spend the weekend in Pine Bluff. He was able to visit the Arkansas-Pine Bluff campus and catch the spring game. The Lonoke wide receiver is a player to watch out for this upcoming season.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph -->
